Home Medical Express is a predatory and unethical company that has repeatedly charged me for the same product I've already paid for. Despite multiple requests, they failed to provide a clear billing statement—what they send is deliberately confusing and impossible to decipher. Instead of returning my calls to clarify the charges, they sent my account to a ruthless debt collector. Their products are grossly overpriced, and their customer service is non-existent. This isn't just my experience—look at the many similar complaints online. This company is just plain dishonest. Avoid them at all costs.

Adapt AKA Encore Respiratory of Lakeland has some employees in the service area that are dedicated but I have received incorrect items that I sent back and never received credit. The billing system is horrible and the email and telephone customer service are offshore and not understandable or helpful. After trying several times to get correct billing and checking for verification from my insurance company (60 days) and after they cashed my check for the full copay ($30) they billed me a 50% late fee! This feels and smells like Medicare fraud.

On Apr 18th I had an order from Adapt health that included Tubing for a CPAP Machine, I received all the Items in this order but did not open the package. On May 9th I received a bill totaling 171.44. I Opted to Return the ENTIRE Package as I did not need these supplies. Upon Returning these Items - ALL UNOPENED - I noticed that I had not been refunded the amount for my bill of 171.44. Upon contacting them on May 30th , I was told their Warehouse marked the Tubing OPENED - It WAS NOT Opened as I did not use or open any of the supplies that I received from them. I opened the mail package to confirm all items were present to ensure they made no mistakes on their end. But Confirmed all items were present and accounted for. In that Call on May 30th I was told that the tubing could not be refunded since it was opened - but noted that I was sure that there was no way that could have been opened since I DID NOT OPEN IT. I returned Everything as is that was in the package - so as far as I know- everything was unopened that I received and sent back. Upon talking to the CS person who I asked what would be next steps to confirm this again and to ensure I rightfully receive my money back- they said to call back within a week. I did. On June 4th - I spoke with a CS person - Jessica- who gave me the same notes, and same run around - I asked for a supervisor who continued to also give me a run around and repeat back to me the same notes that the tubing was opened which we had already established that was what the warehouse marked off. But Upon me asking how can we reverify that, look at camera footage of them verifying it, or figuring out a better solution I was continuingly given the run around about how they can't give me the resolution I want. Looking online this company has lawsuits against them for this very Shady practice. I want my money back. This is unacceptable and not okay. They said how can they speak to the warehouse - figure it out - they are apart of the same company and receive communication from them so figure it out - I sent everything back they way it was sent to me- Unopened as far as i am concerned.

Rented a wheel chair from them and the seat cushion strap broke in less than a week. Called them and was cut off after 23 minutes of on hold. Called back and 40 minutes later they say it’s not their problem and call St LukesHS. They told me it happens all the time but it’s not their problem also and that this happens all the time. I’m renting this wheel chair, so if anything breaks they should fix or replace.

I don't understand the admiration here for such a difficult and horrible company. Particularly, their horrible customer service. I'll briefly explain. You never get to speak over the phone with a USA based person for one. Always overseas. So, I accidentally made a $203.01 billing over-payment. Their system even after being enrolled on online auto-pay, there's NO warning in accidentally making another duplicate payment when their stupid e-mail reminder arrived! After several form e-mails and a complaint to the BBB, it takes up to two months to get a refund check in the mail?! In this day and age, they can't directly deposit the amount back into my bank account, SOONER? Do I wish I could change D.M.E. companies, and ditch these morons. Unfortunately, they all suck!

What a Rip Off company. Erroneously billed for months and some bills were 6 months old but paid. Any doctor sending you to them has to be getting kick backs. Had to cancel a credit card because random charges kept being billed. No wonder they have so many lawsuits against them.

If I could give this company a zero I would. I have been trying to get a home oximeter test set up for four weeks. Multiple phone calls, transferred to different departments. I was told emails were being sent to the correct people, I sent emails through “Contact Us” on their website and all I get is the runaround. If I could deal with a different company I would, but this is who my doctor’s office deals with.
