The worst experience! I took over accounting for a nonprofit that had two 1099s that needed to be corrected for 2025. The previous accountant was uncoopartive and would not make corrections. I discovered 1099s were filed through Adams Tax Forms. My first message to them was 9/14/2026. Today it is 10/14/26 and I still do not have needed information to submit corrected 1099s.
Their "customer service" phone line is un-manned, per the recording. The chat is useless for the information needed. The two representatives I have communicated with have not resolved the issue after nearly 20 exchanges over a month.
Whether you are a business or an accounting firm, you have been warned! Never use Adams Tax Forms.

I've used Adams Tax Software for the…
I've used Adams Tax Software for the last couple of years and I am frustrated by the issues using this software. All of my payees were duplicated in 2025. Every form I created in 2025 got duplicated. I wasn't able to create a W-2C for 5/6 months as it hadn't been accepted by the IRS for that long. I can not print the W-2C, it just gives me an error message. I submitted a ticket for the error message and weeks have passed without any resolution or even contact from the company. You can not use company credit cards to process tax forms, only a debit card would go through. This is not conducive for business applications. Too many issues, not enough resolutions. I do not recommend for companies who need to process 100+ tax forms.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback, and we are truly sorry for the frustration this has caused for you.
We completely understand your concerns regarding duplicate entries, the error messages and delays with your W-2C filing, payment processing limitations for business credit cards, and especially the lack of follow-up on your support ticket. That is certainly not the standard of reliability, efficiency, or responsive support we strive to deliver.
Your feedback is very valuable to us, and we are sharing these specific details with both our technical and customer support teams so we can incorporate improvements into our upcoming releases.
We would appreciate the opportunity to improve our service and resolve these issues going forward. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with your information so we can address further this with you.

AI in chat is the only option for help
AI in chat is the only option for help. The help is incorrect and extremely frustrating. Still don't have my issue resolved.

Recent update/requirements inconvenient and unprofessional.
The changes to enter your address even after purchasing credits every time you submit, forced me to give my employees my home address- as my credit card is linked to my home address. I will not be using this next year. Also, I paid to be able to print copies with it a watermark and was forced to print with a watermark anyways. As a professional, this caused my clients to questions if we outsourced our payroll this year, and caused me to lose clients due to them questioning this. It would have made much more sense to remove the red color from the form so ensure people would not submit a printed version (since IRS only accepts their official redforms and not printed documents anyways- and “copies” are never in red. Also having to enter state information multiple times made submissions get rejected and cost my company money for electronic filing to then have to pay for forms to manually file. Never again will my company use Adam Tax Forms due to the new changes. I will submit over 1000 forms elsewhere. Also, charging $1 and a 24 hour wait for a TIN check that can be checked immediately for free through the IRS should be fraudulent. Receipts do not match what was ordered either. I will have submitted 10 Federal w2s and it will show TIN checks for all of them as well on the receipt.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, we’re truly sorry for the frustration and the impact this has had on your business and your clients.
We understand your concerns around the address requirements, watermark printing, and repeated data entry, and we regret that these changes created confusion and additional costs for you. That’s not the level of reliability or professionalism we aim to provide. We also take your feedback regarding TIN checks, billing discrepancies, and form rejections very seriously, as these directly affect your workflow and trust in our platform.
Your comments are extremely valuable, and we’re actively reviewing these areas to improve both functionality and transparency. If you’re open to it, we’d really appreciate the opportunity to look into your specific case and address any outstanding issues.

Email delivery is still not user…
Email delivery is still not user friendly, dozens of recipients are unable to access or have an invalid link.
Response from Adams Tax FormsFeb 25, 2026
We’re sorry to hear that multiple recipients are having trouble accessing their forms — we understand how frustrating that is, especially when you’re managing dozens of deliveries.
Invalid or expired links can sometimes result from email security filters, forwarding issues, or recipients accessing an older notification. However, that shouldn’t create this level of difficulty.
We’d like to review your account and delivery logs to see exactly what’s happening and help ensure your recipients can access their forms without issue. Please email [email protected]
with “Email Delivery Issue” in the subject line and include the email associated with your account so a senior team member can investigate promptly.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and want to help get this resolved quickly.

Adams does NOT mail your employees the…
Adams does NOT mail your employees the 1099s in a timely manner AT ALL!!! I submitted ours on 1/16 and they were accepted on 1/22. Should have been mailed out at that point, right? WRONG!!! Adams STILL has not mailed them yet, today is 2/3, and I have employees who really need them. What a rip off! Will not be using Adams again!
Response from Adams Tax FormsFeb 25, 2026
We’re very sorry for the frustration this has caused — especially knowing your contractors are waiting for their 1099s.
To clarify, IRS acceptance confirms the forms were successfully filed electronically, but mailing timelines can vary depending on processing queues and print batches during peak season. That said, we understand how concerning it is when recipients have not received their copies yet.
We would like to look into your specific order and confirm the exact mailing status. Please email [email protected]
with “Mailing Status – Urgent” in the subject line and include the email associated with your account so we can review this immediately.
We understand how time-sensitive this is and appreciate the opportunity to address it directly.

Hours Wasted Due to Incompetent Customer Service
I contacted this company because I was unable to file my state tax form through their software. Unfortunately, getting any real support from them was extremely difficult, there is no clear phone number and it took multiple attempts just to reach an actual person.
When I finally did, the representative provided incorrect instructions, telling me to file my federal return first and then file the state separately. After completing my federal filing, I attempted again to file my state return, and it still would not work.
The support agent continued suggesting steps and options that simply did not exist in the software, making it clear she did not understand the platform. She then escalated the issue to a “specialist,” who was similarly unfamiliar with the process and unable to resolve the problem.
After hours of back-and-forth communication, their final response was simply that I would need to mail the form in instead. They then closed the conversation without any meaningful resolution.
Overall, the support was unprofessional, disorganized, and deeply frustrating. I would strongly recommend using a different tax filing service.

Thanks for sharing your experience, we’re very sorry for the time and frustration this caused.
We understand how important it is to have clear, accurate guidance when filing, and it’s disappointing to hear that you received inconsistent instructions and were unable to get a timely resolution. That’s not the level of support we strive to provide. Your feedback regarding the difficulty reaching support, as well as the experience with our agents and escalation process, is being taken seriously and will be reviewed with our team.
We also recognize how frustrating it is to spend hours troubleshooting, only to be advised to mail in the form without a proper explanation or resolution.
If you’re open to it, we’d appreciate the opportunity to review your case further and see if there’s anything we can do to help or improve your experience. Please feel free to contact us directly at [email protected] so we can assist you further.

If I could give them a "0"
If I could give them a "0", I would. Can't delete a recipient. Double charges my credit card saying the address doesn't match the credit card but my bank pays it anyway. Forget about customer service. Chap box is worthless and they won't give you a customer service phone number. Email summaries show lower number of filings in spite of paying for & filing higher number
Response from Adams Tax FormsFeb 25, 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry for the frustration you’ve experienced — especially with billing concerns and the difficulty reaching a live person when you needed help.
Address mismatch errors usually happen when the billing address doesn’t exactly match what the card issuer has on file, but we’d like to review your account to confirm what occurred and resolve any duplicate charges immediately. We also sincerely apologize for the delay in response. During peak hours, chat and email queues can run longer than expected, but you should not feel ignored — especially after requesting human assistance multiple times. We do have live support agents, and we regret that we did not connect you quickly enough.
