I paid off my Talbots credit card with them. After years of on-time payments, they took my available credit from $3480 to $100 and told me that my credit score had changed and they made that decision. No communication as to why or that they were doing this. They impacted my credit score negatively by decreasing the credit limit on a card I paid down.

When they were instructed by merchant to refund money, they advised it would take them 4 weeks to do so. Ie: They’re going to make interest on my money as long as possible because they are disreputable, and without scruples.

The worst bank I’ve ever dealt with. My wife was primary card holder, she died 12/31/22. I notified these clowns in Feb of her passing. Immediately both her card and my card were cancelled. Fine, I expected that. I paid the card balance for Jan, 2023, $2829.24 on 2/10. BJ’s dropped Comenity (completely understandable) and Capital One was the new company serving BJ’s. I called Capital One and they never heard of us. Called BJ’s, was told the account was now being handled by Goldman Sachs. Why? I was then told $44.95 was due on my wife’s card, how she charged from the grave is unknown, but a bill was supposedly sent 03/24/23. On 03/23/23 I received a notification from a credit monitoring service stating Comenity Capitol reported to Experion a $44.00 balance was reported as a charge off!! Two days later I get the same notice from TransUnion. Called Comenity, was told its standard procedure to write off balances upon death. That’s just great. Two days after billing the debt is classified a charge off. Each of those credit agencies then lowered my credit score from 830 to 790. Who fixes that? Comenity was only willing to provide the agencies phone number, but wouldn’t do anything more to restore my rating. Now I get to hire a lawyer to straighten it out. Don’t even think about using Comenity.

I prefer to mail my payments. I noticed in January my payments (often I mail multiple payments during the month) were not being posted. So, I began to mail my payments with USPS Priority Mail with tracking. My payments would arrive well in advance and not be posted. This month, March 2023, my payment had been received 13 days before the due date. On the due date the calls, texts, and emails started about me owing a payment. When I called to ask what was going on, someone answered the phone (finally) sighed deeply, and then hung up. I am making payments as quickly as I can and not using this card so that I can pay them off. I will never have another business dealing with this company. Unethical, usury, and no customer service.

Hello, On 5/28/2022 I opened a Comenity/Sephora Credit Card I made a charge in October 2022 and paid it off in full in December and closed my account for good measure. This company has constantly hit me with delinquent payments and tanked my credit score by 100 points. 1/19/2023 - $105.00 delinquent payment 2/16/2023 - $148.00 delinquent payment Despite me calling them multiple times and asking them why I have these charges, they told me specifically that my account was closed. My credit score has been affected by 100 points - I can no longer apply for apartments with peace of mind. It's absolutely ridiculous.

I have a Pre-Approved Credit Card with Comenity Bank via an order I placed with Jessica London Catalog on 10/12/22. I had issues with the order & Jessica London issued a paper check instead of automatically crediting my account. I since have been paying monthly & Comenity Bank has no problem accepting the payments, but won't credit the refund in the amount of $356.08. I've had issues cashing this paper check. I returned the merchandise, now I am stuck paying this. I have called Comenity Bank wishing to payoff my account & it falls on deaf ears. The check is expiring on March 6th, 2023, but I didn't receive it until the end of 12/29/22. I currently have a complaint filed with the BBB/Ohio. I believe I will have to wait for their follow-up which will never happen. Since I returned the merchandise already, & could not cash their refund check, I may not pay it at all! I am within my rights. I will check with an attorney.

I have mailed my recent payment before I received the statement. Mailed it 2/21/23. Still it has not been posted to my account. they will hold mail so that they can charge late fees. Who ever heard of doing business this way. It's a SCAM people ! Don't do business with them. I will be closing my account. Don't need this aggrevation.

I am extremely dissatisfied with comenity Credit Card. I had a 1 year special financing with Bank of America (AAA card). When AAA decided to switch from BOA to Comenity, the special financing was transferred to the new Account (this was in October). Didn’t think I would run into any issues since I planned to pay off my special financing balance by the due date which was in Dec. Now here is where Comenity’s shady practice comes in: when I received my Dec statement, it indicated the special financing balance that I needed to pay before the due date so I made sure I paid the entire bill in full. When i saw the January statement i was surprised to see a finance charge. I saw that I still had a balance left in the 0% special promo (which already expired in Dec). So again, I paid the January statement in full including the interest they charged me. Feb statement came and I saw another interest charge. i noticed that the special financing balance barely changed. Apparently they kept applying a big chunk of my payments to current purchases that would have been included in the NEXT bill statement. No wonder the balance on that expired special offer wouldn’t go away. I called comenity to complain but either the rep knew the shady practice and was trying to cover up for comenity OR he was just as confused as I am about the shady system. Bottomline is, I was informed that I should’ve called previously to inform them of how payments should've been applied. So I told him I didn’t know I was supposed to do that because there was nothing on the statements or their website to indicate that that was how their credit card company does payment allocations. This is how customers are scammed into paying interest so if you keep a high balance and don’t pay your balance in full each month you have no way of knowing that your high interest balance is really not decreasing. It is a total scam. Avoid comenity card.. not worth the aggravation.
