Abercrombie and Kent put together a great itinerary for a multi-centre holiday in Yucatan and Quintana Roo, including recommendations for three superb hotels that we wouldn’t have found in our own. They also used an excellent local guide who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the local archeology, history, culture and wildlife. Also very good support both before and during our trip, in terms of keeping us up to date about transfers. The whole experience was very slick and polished, and would definitely book through this company again

Our party of 4 had a trip to planned to Galapagos and Machu Picu, Peru from Mar. 26-April 6, 2023. Due to alleged unrest in Peru our trip was cancelled by A & K. We have traveled with A & K on several trips and been pleased in the past however this scheduling was much less organized. The minute the trip was cancelled our tour agent requested our substantial monies for the 12 day trip to be refunded. We have made several attempts to get through to A & K with no one answering the phone. Our agent has left several messages yet no return calls or mention of when to expect our refund! Not sure what our next step is but I hate that we have to fight for a refund.

Our trip to Vietnam was wonderful and we truly enjoyed visiting the northern region (Hanoi, Hai Long Bay and Sapa) as well as central Vietnam (Hoi An & Hue). The only negative aspect was the weather in the northern highlands. It was cold, rainy and foggy most of the time so it was difficult to appreciate the dramatic landscape and terrible for photography and trekking. In speaking with locals, it seems that this is normal weather that time of year. It would have been good to know this in advance since we would have definitely considered postponing our trip to another date.

My friend and I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Egypt. I only have positive things to say about A&K, we were so well looked after. The booking process was marvellous and Lynne Cooke in Cheltenham was so helpful to ensure all was tailored exactly to what we wanted to see and do. All the coordinators and Egyptologists on the ground were exceptional. I was anxious not having traveled for four years and never having experienced a holiday of this kind before. However that dissolved the moment we landed, because at every stage we were so well looked after and made to feel so safe, without that care feeling intrusive or suffocating. It was an adventure I will remember for the rest of my life. It was always my dream to see ancient Egypt and I’m so happy I elected to book with A&K.

Hi Joanne & A+K Team, Joanne, From me and the family a huge thank you for organizing what was a truly memorable and fun trip to South Africa. It was a wonderful experience in particular Robben Island and our game drives at Kariega. Our trip to India was a great success thanks to all the people working for Abercrombie and Kent. We were helped along the way by efficient representatives, memorable guides and a fantastic driver. The hotels selected were all memorable in their own way, especially those in the Oberoi group. The staff back in London were helpful in designing the trip and sorting out some niggles such as a cancelled flight by BA. The only reason I do not award the full 5 stars is the Abercrombie and Kent App. The information on the App was not always correct, which led to confusion.

From the first contact with Lydia in the Cheltenham office we knew we were in safe hands . If we could give A&K 10 stars we would. Words are not enough to say how incredibly well we were looked after on this extraordinary trip to Kenya .A special mention to Lydia .( Rep .Lewella ) Sasha,( Guide, Lekura Kinyaga) known as David at Kifaru House .(Daniel. Guide at Sand River . (Medic.Mateus) I had a silly fall on my second day and through A&K Lewella came to the hospital and stayed with me for the whole time enduring a fast track for an X ray. Although the rest of my trip was spent on crutches A&K could not have been more exceptional in the way I was cared for every single day ensuring this event did not detract from the enjoyment of this adventure in any way. Thank you all at A&K We cannot wait for our next trip with you .

We had been planning a 10-day tailor-made trip to Croatia with stops in Zagreb, Split, Hvar, Dubrovnik and Kotor (Montenegro) utilizing a Tailor-Made A & K “Specialist”. My interaction with her was, to say the least, unpleasant. Over the past few weeks of planning this trip, I found the Specialist to be unprofessional, unaccommodating, and condescending. She was either unwilling or incapable of answering straightforward questions about the trip we were attempting to plan. When I questioned the price of the trip, she was unable to give me a breakdown of the $40,000 trip (without airfare) that we were planning. She just wanted payment, or the rate was going to go up…again. When I called to speak to her, she was argumentative. She seemed to be offended that I would question “her expertise”. She appeared genuinely surprised when I asked to see a photo or description of the rooms we were going to be staying in. And when I asked to see the rate for “one step” down from the Presidential or Executive suites she had booked us in, it was as if I had asked for rooms at the nearest Red Roof Inn. And I certainly do not want to leave out the Manager of A & K Tailor Made. While our Specialist was out of the office, the Manager took over and sent an updated proposal. When I questioned the Manager why the Specialist suddenly booked us in a hotel we had NOT previously discussed (Hotel Park in Split), she said the room at the hotel we originally discussed was no longer available (le Meridien). The Manager said that the Hotel Park WAS the “preferred A & K” hotel in Split. However, in an earlier email, the Specialist told us she was booking us in the “preferred A & K hotel”, Le Meridian. What I soon realized was that ANY hotel that was available was the “preferred A & K Hotel”. I found the entire process of designing a tailor-made trip with A & K and the so-called Specialist to be a nightmare. This was not the experience I had hoped it would be. As such, I have since found another luxury tour operator, who has designed a similar trip with a staff who was a pleasure to deal with. If I could have given ZERO stars I would have.
