48HOUR Print Failed to Deliver on Its…
48HOUR Print Failed to Deliver on Its Promise The name 48HOUR Print certainly didn’t live up to its promise in my experience. Before placing my order on Tuesday, I called to confirm that my print job would be completed by Thursday and delivered by Friday. The phone representative explicitly assured me that it would. I placed the order, reviewed and approved the proof over the phone, and the job went into production. On Thursday morning, I checked the online order status and discovered that my order still hadn’t been completed. I called customer service again, only to be told that the job was not finished. The representative, based overseas in the Philippines, contacted the Austin print facility and relayed that they would complete the job and upgrade the shipment to priority shipping for Saturday morning delivery. Although this was already a day later than the original promise, I agreed because I needed the printed materials for an event on Saturday evening. Friday arrived, and I still had no tracking information. I called for the third time and was told that the Austin facility had completed the job but had failed to ship it using the promised priority service. As a result, delivery would not happen until Monday—making the order completely useless for my Saturday event. When I explained this to the representative in the Philippines, she connected me with Ian, who appeared to be based in Austin. He apologized for the delay, but then offered only a partial refund. After three separate calls to follow up on an order that was supposed to be mission-critical, this response was unacceptable. I made it clear that a Monday delivery was pointless because my event was the following day. Only after a heated exchange did Ian finally agree to issue a full refund. What makes this experience particularly disappointing is that 48HOUR Print is associated with NextDayFlyers.com and UPrinting.com, companies I have used many times in the past with consistently reliable, on-time deliveries. Unfortunately, 48HOUR Print did not deliver the same level of service. Delays can happen, but repeatedly making promises that aren’t kept, failing to communicate proactively, and offering only a partial refund when the company’s failure makes the order unusable is simply poor customer service.
