42nd Street PhotoReviews of 42photo.com

After considerable research, decided to buy my Eos5dMIII from 42nd Street Photo. Made the phone call - consultant was excellent. Helped work out issues with having credit card approved (large purchase). Camera shipped promptly w/o issues. They delivered everything they promised and more. SR. Champaign IL

First time I had ordered from 42nd street and they treated me like a regular answered all my questions and shipped my camera fast!!!

First time on their website I purchased Sony RX100 IV. Next morning a salesman left message to say "something was wrong with the order" I called back & he told me if I wanted the English info, it'd be $89 more. But since I said online I liked the ease of purchase on the site, he'd not charge me for the English info! (Isn't this a store in the US???) Then he talked me into buying their extended-warranty insurance and did not tell me it was not "returnable" if the camera needed to be returned. When I opened the camera package when it arrived, it took me about 10 minutes to see that there were no helpful marking on the dial for different settings. The dial did not even have "fee-lable" info points to know if you were coming up a to a desired setting. Of course, I needed to open package to find this out. I immediately called store to see if this camera was the only one without settings on the dial. The person answering said he was an owner and he confirmed there were no markings or feel-able indications on the dial. I explained I was buying this camera for a safari and I don't have time to be fumbling with the dial while taking animal pictures. Bottom line he was very rude and said it was policy to take a 20% re-stocking fee, not just on camera but also on the $90 warranty I paid to return it immediately!!! They kept $180 and I paid shipping ($35) to return it too=$215 for a look! :( They are clearly over-reaching and take advantage of you once your money is in their hands! It's unfair for re-stocking fee to be on camera & insurance. It's even more egregious to keep 100% pf the warranty insurance! I feel totally taken advantage of!!!!

I was looking to purchase my first DSLR camera and found 42nd Street Photo online. I naturally had a lot of questions so I called and spoke with Ralph who helped me to choose a camera package that fit my budget. I've been very happy with the product, service and delivery time and will definitely buy from them again in the future.

I purchased my Camera from 42nd St Photo and I could not be happier. Service was great and the product was shipped quickly. I have been thrilled with the camera and I have made other purchases of lenses and camera bags. I have not had a problem, the staff is great to work with.

I bought my first lenses from 42nd St in the 1970’s. Quality and pricing are still great, along with good advice from the staff.

I odered a Nikon DX AF-S NIKKOR 55-300mm lense from my wife on line. A sale rep contacted me shortly after I placed my order. He was very helpful. He checked to see if I was satisfied with my order, answered any questions I had and he provided helpful tips. The lense arrived very quickly and most important my wife loves it.

42nd service was fast and easy. Received call to confirm order to ensure everything was correct. Company has a great selection of products for a great price.
