I ordered one outdoor light and got no response for two weeks. I finally contacted them via email asking the status of my order and they apologized and said the order must have been missed and they would respond with a shipping confirmation the next day. Three days passed and no confirmation. I logged on and cancelled my order. Not trusting the online system for cancelling, I called and spoke to a representative. I said please cancel my order and he responded "no problem the order will be cancelled". Two days later I get an email notification that the order was being processed! I emailed again and said this order has been cancelled and to NOT ship it; it will be refused. They responded, no problem refuse the delivery and we'll refund the charge as soon as we receive it. This all started April-22 2020 and here it is June-30 and no refund. I have sent five emails asking for my refund and each time I get an email saying we are working on it and other blah, blah, blah. The last email was June-22 that said we will "issue a refund right away". I'm am ready to dispute the charge with my credit card company. BOTTOM LINE! Do not do business with this company. Their prices are higher, the customer service lies, they're incompetent, and not to be trusted. Just look at their other reviews on different sites.

I received a $1,500 light fixture with tarnish on it. I spoke to a customer service rep, Britani and sent her pictures but never got a reply. A few days later I called and spoke to John, who said that the case was still "open". A week later I emailed Britani again to check in, no response again. Several days later I called and spoke to John, he said he would reach out to Britani again. I received an email from her stating there was no tarnish. Don't know why it took 2.5 weeks and repeated attempts to contact her for her to tell me that. I immediately called John back to say I wanted to start a return. Never received a response from him. I ended up speaking with the manufacturer, who tried to make contact with them, and they never received a response either. They saw the same pictures I sent to Britani and stated the tarnish was obvious. The manufacturer was able to exchange the item and expressed frustration and surprise that I was told there was no tarnish and that the both of us never received a response. I will never do business with 1800Lighting, or Capital Lighting, again but would definitely purchase another fixture from the brand.

TERRIBLE COMPANY! AVOID THEM! They sent me a product with a missing piece (a lamp without the transformer so it can be plugged in). They did not respond to emails. It was very difficult to connect with a customer service rep. When I did, she said that this problem happens regularly, it's not 1800 Lighting's fault and she would send me a follow-up email within 3-5 days. No one ever followed up nor responded to my subsequent emails and calls. I stopped payment through my credit card company ... but what a frustrating hassle. AVOID placing orders with them!

This has to be one of the worst companies I have ever worked with. Instead of writing a subjective review, I will provide a timeline of events and each can come to their own conclusion: 6/23/19 - Ordered two fans totaling over $1000. Expected ship date for Fan A: 7/22. Expected ship date for Fan B: 6/25. 6/24/19 - received an email from the company asking for confirmation of my delivery address. I responded within 20 minutes of receiving the email with the address confirmation 6/25/19 - I emailed customer service as I had not received any shipping information 6/26/19 - Received a response from customer service saying Fan A is on back order until 8/20/19 and that Fan B would be shipping out that day. 6/28/19 - Received shipping confirmation for Fan B (which was wasn't actually shipped until 6/27) 6/29/19 - Fan B was delivered. It is the wrong color (completely my fault, NOT the company). Contacted customer service to return Fan B and placed a new order for Fan C. Expected ship date for Fan C: 7/2/19. Customer service representative indicated I would receive the return shipping label for Fan B that day. 7/3/19 - Never received the return shipping label. Contacted customer service via chat, again, and was again told they would send an email that day with the return shipping label. I also inquired about the status of Fan C as it was expected to ship on 7/2 but I hadn't received any tracking information. Customer rep indicated Fan C was shipping that day and I would receive tracking information by the end of the day. 7/5/19 - Still no Fan C. Contacted customer service via chat again. They indicated Fan C would be shipped 7/5 (as it was never shipped on 7/3) and that I would have tracking information "later in the day". No tracking information received by end of day 7/6/19 - received tracking information for Fan C 7/8/19 - Fan B picked up via FedEx for return 7/9/19 - Fan C delivered 7/19/19 - Contacted customer service for an update on the status of the return. They indicated the item was received (it was delivered to them on 7/10 per the tracking information) and a refund would be issued in 5 days. The representative also indicated Fan A would be shipped on 7/22 and I would receive tracking information on 7/23 7/29/19 - Never received a refund or shipping information so I contacted customer service again. Here is the transcript from our chat: Rep: We just created the return on 7/28. Generally it takes 2 weeks from when received to get an okay from the vendor for a credit. Me: I was told last week that my credit card would be credited in 5 days Me: and that was on July 19 Rep: Sorry ***** but it generally takes 2 weeks for it to be inspected. Me: The item was returned about 3 weeks ago Me: I chatted with BerndtH on Friday July 19 and he said it was received and the credit would be issued in 5 days Rep: Yes, I see that now. Sorry this was not notated or entered properly. Rep: The credit was refunded today. Rep: You will see this on your card in 1-2 business days. Me: Ok. Can you also tell me the status of the other fan I purchased? During the same chat conversation with BerndtH I was told [Fan A] would be shipping on Tuesday July 22 and that I would receive tracking information by Wednesday [July 23]. I haven't received anything Rep: This is back-ordered until ~8/31 At this point I asked for the order to be cancelled. While I fully understand they can't control if a product is on back order, I'm not willing to continue working with a company that constantly changes their story and rarely follows through with what they've said they would do. Save yourself a lot of time and stress and go somewhere

absolute worst company to deal withI placed an order with them for overnight shipping..... That was for overnight shipping FOUR days ago. It was to arrive no later than today. I called the company and they informed me they have had a holiday weekend and couldn't possibly get the order to me tomorrow, which is already 3 days late. Sul said they had no managers and basically there is a process and he couldn't get it to me any faster than in :the next few days"...total waste of time and money PLEASE don't buy from this place they are impossible to deal with and really don't care at all about the customer.

Don’t buy from this place please. I bought a $2,750 ceiling light and after 13 months the light is defected, 2 of the metal wire was broke and fall, half is still hanging on the ceiling. Try to contact them for help with order parts and look like they don’t want to help because of little thing like this. And they told me to call direct to the factory to order and i did, but the factory said they don’t sale for individual customers, i have to order thru the company that bought from and i got back to them and asked for their help but no one answered. Very disappointed for their service.

Do not order from this site! The merchandise is nothing like pictured and when you go to return it, they charge shipping and a restocking fee! Very deceptive! It says specifically you will be refunded the total amount minus shipping... then about 10 paragraphs later they say that some of their suppliers charge a restocking fee. They don't mention this until very end of the return policy, way after the 3 steps to an "easy return"

They deceptively write "Easy Returns" on all product pages & through checkout, but what they don't tell you is that this is a sleazy button that when clicked provides "fine print" if it can be returned. The item-specific information is clearly hidden away on purpose, instead of being in the listing. I found out the hard way trying to return a lamp that was the wrong size. When they finally accepted the return, it took 3 weeks after their receipt of the item to refund my money!
