Losing Maddie is the most heartbreaking experience I have ever had!
It’s been just four months since we had to make the most horrific decision, after our dearest Maddie went into renal failure. This was exactly two weeks after a Librela shot. Just 7 days after she had it, she became very seriously sick, disengaged and couldn’t walk unaided. The first vet visit he exclaimed her blood results were off the scale, and given just 10 days before she’d had blood tests and she was fit and healthy, this was a terrible shock. For five days we all fought night and day to keep her alive. I had to administer intravenous fluids, it was frightening having had no experience before. We tried so hard to help her but the tests came back renal failure. We were heartbroken. It was just terrible because we trusted our vet and he’d said this Librela would help her. And she wasn’t old - just 11 - and she was the apple of my husband’s eye. Every single time he speaks lovingly about Maddie, a knife pierces my heart, and twists. I will never, ever forgive myself. Can anyone at Zoetis sleep at night, I ask myself constantly? With all your comments about serious illness and sadly loss of your beloved pets, I cannot believe Zoetis just ignores what is happening, and also those supposedly governing veterinary medicines. Don’t give up telling everyone about your situation. Someone, at some point, will raise their head above the parapet and bring Zoetis in line. And finally, I’m full of admiration for all of you who are going through what we are going through - never give up 💔
