Really weird experience. I answered an ad for rental by owner, actually showed me the place, but wanted to do everything electronically, including payment, so I did some checking with the county assessor and public records website. Wasn't listed as the owner on either site. When I pointed that out and asked for a copy of the lease, he sent one that listed the owner as PBM Properties. Then he said he represented PMB Properties. Either a scammer or a really inept representative. I recommend checking the owner against county records before even viewing any Zillow rentals, let alone submitting an application. I expect the same is true for Zillow real estate sales as well.

They are trying to devalue my property. I put it up for sale, and it is residential/commercial since the 1800s, and they do not have that option. When I enter single family and save, it defaults to "apartment." My property is actually worth about 400,000 and I am trying to sell it fast for 298,000, and Zillow has it off-market as 180,000. The 2-story 3bd/2bth home was rehabbed in the 1990s with constant updates and has a newer roof, oak floors and ceramic tile. The unfinished cottage has a newer roof and ceramic tile. My property also includes a commercial antique cold frame cast iron greenhouse (110 x 40 feet) that needs work and has a shed inside, small unfinished cottage in the back near a brook and surveyed 1.4 acres with landscaped and wild areas including a seasonal spring. Two areas enclosed--side yard ow cement walls, and partially enclosed backyard with 5 foot cedar fencing. There is a large lake in the village I live in. Anyway, I am going to see what happens when it goes "live." I am a minority female and feel Zillow or some agency is practicing overt racism and sexism, as well as elder abuse by trying to greatly undersell my property. They have no phone number or customer support to call, probably because they are messing people over.

I’ve applied to over 20 roles at Zillow, many of which I am not just qualified for, but objectively over-qualified for based on experience, scope, and past performance. Not a single interview. Not even a meaningful conversation. At a certain point, this stops being about “fit” and starts raising serious questions about the integrity and effectiveness of the recruiting process itself. Zillow positions itself as a technology-forward, data-driven organization, yet the hiring experience suggests the opposite. Either: • The screening process is overly reliant on automated filters that fail to recognize real-world experience • The job postings are not aligned with actual hiring intent • Or the recruiting team lacks the ability, or authority, to properly evaluate senior-level talent None of those are good signals. What’s most concerning is the complete lack of feedback or engagement. For a company that prides itself on user experience, the candidate experience is surprisingly opaque and dismissive. Talented professionals are left to submit applications into what feels like a black hole. At scale, this isn’t just frustrating for candidates, it’s a strategic liability. Companies don’t miss talent because it doesn’t exist. They miss talent because their systems fail to recognize it. If Zillow is serious about attracting experienced operators and leaders, the recruiting process needs to evolve. Right now, it’s optimized for volume, not quality, and it shows.

I thought I was doing an application for a rental on Zillow. They are associated with third parties that are on their website. I paid $75 and I did not know Zillow is only$35. They had me do a third party application for a place on McKinley terrace. For SVN properties they would not respond to my request for the property to schedule a viewing and they would not respond to my application. They would not give me a refund they are scamming people on their website!

I'd give Zillow a 0 star rating, but its not available. Dont use them, ive used them a few times, and have learned that their "contact" and/or application system doesnt make it to the realtors, or brokers that are renting, selling, whatever. And it s a scam they run by offering "for the low sum of $35, you can have 30 days to use their system, application system"....BS. DONT DO IT. SCAM.

I have been looking at rental properties. I drove over an hour to see a property that was not really for rent. It wasn't even vacant, and not supposed to be posted. The person I communicated with tried to scam me into sending them money. Also deleted the posting by the time I arrived at the home. They were persistent and kept reaching out to me. Be careful and make sure transactions are legit.
