I’m a Gen Z and Zelle is way too complicated and vague. Like Venmo is so easy you get to just be like “hey did you get the Venmo?” and they’re like “yup” I had to cancel my Zelle because the recipient couldn’t see it (don’t worry this is a $25 fee because they explain Zelle should be treated like cash and you can’t take cash back) yea but also the person getting the cash knows they got the cash lol. Anyways it’s dumb as hell just stick to Venmo. Yeah you have to transfer the funds into your bank but I’ve still spent less on instant transactions than I have on one Zelle payment. It’s like they took Venmo and were like let’s add all the crappy parts of banking and mobile banking. Thanks Zelle, get bent.

If I could leave no stars I would. Zero customer service

They list a transaction limit of $500. For twin kids birthdays I want to send them $500 each. So I send 1 twin their birthday $500, then zelle blocks the second "for security reasons". So much for the surprise. Wells Fargo says third party app they have no control over. No way to contact zelle. Time to change banks and zelle.

We have a money saving group commonly known as SUSU. It was my turn to get money through Zelle only to be informed that my account is limited to $500. It pissed me up and opted for cashapp who did the job excellent.

Update to my 7/3/26 review of zelle. My bank (First National Bank of Omaha) called and told me that Fiserve thinks they corrected the problem and would I try the transaction again. I told the very nice customer service rep that I would eat soup off the floor of a sewage treatment plant before I would do anything with zelle ever. I have been a customer of FNBO for 30+ years. I am moving to a new financial institution who doesn't REQUIRE zelle.

They unlisted my cell number from my account, which has not changed in over 15 yrs. Costing me payments and delaying. The bank never modified my info so there is no legal reason ZELLE did.

Horrible, not even try using it. It's not even service. If you are not using it very often, please don't. You will be frustrated many times of the process and won't be able to complete transaction or send money without getting in fumes. Better use cash or old check will be even faster than zelle. Ditched PayPal years ago and now will ditch zelle for good. Useless. Attempted to use via Chase. Third world country, SADLY.

Why anyone uses this service is beyond me. Today I had to make a payment to a service provider who for whatever reason only accepts only Zelle. And their risk system decides to decline my transaction. So I’m basically stranded and had to get my elderly mother to find a sizable cash amount to pay the guy as he was delivering my car across the country to her. I understand you have a risk system. But everyone else with a risk system is able to txt me immediately and let me clear the transaction. These guys do nothing. They say 24 hours. Can’t depends on bank. Nothing. How this service got into banking is beyond me.
