I was very satisfied with the travel and tour arrangements, accommodations, etc. However, my overall raring of only 3 stars is due to significant, ongoing and yet unresolved issues related to the travel insurance that I bought for my son. I would be happy to discuss this matter with you further. EB.

Annoyed that families didn’t get seats together on plane. Did appreciate tours we were on. Hotels were adequate. We had issues at one hotel in that we slept on twin beds and the bathroom continued to have sewage odor. Bus driver was great ! Your guides very knowledgeable

We had no problem with our guide or drivers...Very nice, on time, knowledge, interesting.
Our major complaint we didn't like how our guide dropped us off and said he will be waiting when we were done...WHAT?.if we wanted a "group" tour we wouldn't have spent the money for a private tour.
At the falcon hospital we were put into a big group..no place to sit, the man giving the tour was nice, but, he was hard to understand, 45 minutes way way to long..I started to play a card game on my cell phone...I do hope you hear what we thought...We have traveled for years, we have been on many tours, small groups, large groups, for the day, or 4-5 days, and private...

Dear Kathy and Robert,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Ya'lla Tours. We are truly sorry it did not meet your expectations.
We would like more information about when and where your guide dropped you off to pick up later. If this was at a site included in your itinerary, it is not acceptable. Please let us know through your travel agent or directly at [email protected]. The Falcon Hospital, where only resident guides are allowed to lead tours, is an exception. We regret this was not made clear to you.

Too many activities planned for each …
Too many activities planned for each day. Was not prepared for how physically grueling the hiking would be, especially for seniors in the heat. Would not recommend going to Israel in the month of July again. Our guide was wonderful. The bus was very comfortable, and the hotels were very nice. The food was amazing.

Thanks so much for your comments. With large groups such as yours, we try to strike a balance between those who wish to see as much as possible for the best price (July) and those who prefer a less ambitious pace.

9 day ISRAEL tour
This was an exciting trip. We visited many amazing places. The food was awesome. This was a very fast paced trip and due to a tight packed schedule there were lots of time constraints for each site and that left little time for capturing photos without slowing the group or for gift shopping. You had to be fluid and fit in the gift shoping and photo taking where you could even if you only got a snack instead of lunch for example. The radio headsets were a plus because it allowed those with digital SLR cameras to wander a bit to capture photos without slowing the group too much. It might be a plus for any site that has brochures such as national parks or others to have that available before visiting the site. That also allows for less people to be gathered around a plaque explaining a particular site or waiting to take a picture when it might be explained in a brochure.
For double occupancy and the placement of unknown roomates, it is strongly suggested that screening of roomates be done, through questions etc., to ensure the best placement possible. Often its assumed that with religious based groups that everyone loves everyone, that may be but; Its like dating, sometimes it dont work or personalities differ too much to be in close quarters and there needs to be other options "quietly" available without disrupting an entire trip or the group.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience with Ya'lla Tours. We truly value your feedback. Your itinerary was indeed very busy! As with all of our private groups, the program was customized at the request of your group leaders, whose desire was for their participants to see as much as possible.
Providing as much site literature as possible in advance is a good suggestion, especially in large groups with full days, like yours.
Matching roommates is always a tricky prospect and one we rarely agree to do. When a single traveler wishes to avoid the expense of a single room, we do our best to accommodate them but often the roommate options are limited. Once a trip is underway, if roommates are incompatible, the options are to switch roommates, provided another matched pair exists and is willing, or to reserve another room, if available, which would mean added expense to both roommates. It's awkward all the way around. In any case, we regret if any of our passengers have been uncomfortable with their roommates. This can put a real damper on the whole trip and is unfortunate.

Stolen articles left on the bus
I had my Bible, reading book stolen one day on the bus, then the following day I had radio and water stolen on the bus, and the next day water stolen again. The last day of the trip I noticed the tour guide taking my luggage off the bus which it was not supposed to taken off. I expected this so was able to make him put it back on the bus before we arrived at the Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv.

I'm sorry this happened to you, Kathryn. We take security on our touring vehicles very seriously and have never, since we opened in 1993, had an incidence of theft from a bus reported to us. Your guide and driver are trusted members of our team and have served thousands of passengers, with only positive feedback. It is our policy to keep touring vehicles locked when not attended and we will reiterate that policy to all of our guides and drivers.
Overall, I hope your Israel pilgrimage was a positive and meaningful experience.
