Good bye Xfinity Mobile
My family had 4 lines with Xfinity Mobile until this month. Now, we have moved all them to a different carrier because of a very bad customer service situation. We lost the SIM card in my daughter's phone during travel abroad. After my return, I visited the nearest Xfinity mobile office to get a replacement. I carried my id and my own phone with me. I told the receptionist that I needed a replacement SIM for one of my lines. I was asked to wait in line. After one-hour, they refused to give me a replacement SIM because I did not have her phone with me. Unfortunately, I was not told about this requirement when I was reported my issue and was asked to wait an hour ago. I asked them why they could not give me a replacement unless I bring that phone to the store. They told me that they needed to activate the SIM on that phone before giving me the SIM. I told them to activate the SIM for the same phone that my daughter has been using. I offered to call my daughter at home and get the IMEI number of that phone. The customer representative said they could not trust me to not use that SIM with some other phone!. I could not understand their concern because they were merely providing a mobile service (with their SIM), and I was bringing my own device/phone. I told them that other carriers do not insist on seeing the phone in order to provide a replacement SIM. I also warned them that they would completely lose all my business if they refused to provide me a replacement SIM card that I was willing to pay for. Unfortunately, that customer representative was unmoved and walked me out. I have just ported all my 4 mobile lines to a different carrier. Beware - Xfinity has a sense of customer service!
