Let me start by saying we sent in a cancellation letter on the 3rd day after signing (legally I had 5 days to rescind the contract). I'll write a follow up post after We have received the refund. We got lured into a presentation on a trip to Vegas. In hindsight it feels like the predatory practices of a cult trying to recruit members. Here's what happened: 1. Approached by a female rep at the hotel. She acted like she was giving us perks out of kindness for listening to a 2 hour presentation. One perk was $75 in meal vouchers which she lied and said we could use anywhere. They were only valid at 3 hotels NOT including where we were staying. 2. A man met with us at the presentation and explained briefly the timeshare program. He never mentioned long wait times for availability of properties, but instead highlighted lower point costs for bookings 45 days or less before travel. 3. A 2nd man shows a group of us a video presentation along with his stand up comedy routine. 4. A woman met with us to run numbers to see if purchase was a good fit for our family based on how much we travel annually. She did NOT notify us that she was running a Hard Credit check when she asked for SS #. She then took us on a tour and gave misinformation & omitted important information about the time share resorts (Never mentioned cleaning fees, insinuating that they were included, misrepresented resort policies, and insinuated that it was easy to get the bookings of our choice (water front), never mentioning the lack of availability of popular destinations. 4. A 3rd man took us to get the perks promised by the rep at the hotel where it's discovered that the meal vouchers could not be used at our own hotel. He tried to take us on another tour. I told him of our time constraints and he misled us into thinking we'd be finished in time. 5. The woman meets us again, We agree to a price-point and sale. At this point I find out about separate maintenance fees, and the 12.99% interest. We don't agree to the interest, but she persuades us by advising to get a lower cost loan and pay off the balance in full. 6. Another man comes out and brings us sparkling cider to congratulate us on becoming a member. The whole room cheers and celebrates their latest suckers. (It happened at least 4 more times for others that were duped). 7. We were taken to another woman to read over and sign the contracts. It was a rushed process, especially with our time constraints. An contract item came up that we could not agree to, and we were going to cancel right then. We were advised on a loophole to circumvent the item. When asked about the maintenance fees increasing, she never told us that they go up a huge% per year! We were LIED to when asked if there was a rescission period where we could legally change our minds and cancel the contract. We were told NO twice. When we read each page thoroughly later several items were different from what we were told. The whole process took 4 hours, much longer than the 2 we agreed to. Everyone was EXTREMELY kind and generous throughout the whole process, actively trying to make personal connections with us. THAT WAS THE TRAP.

Since January 2025 I have contacted the Wyndham Cares team repeatedly to close my parent’s VIP WorldMark account. My father passed away late last year and my mother has been in memory care for Alzheimer's since 2021. Her care is very expensive and she no longer has the resources to pay Wyndham $600 a month in fees and is falling behind in payments. Earlier this year I waited 20 weeks for the Wyndham Cares team to review the paperwork and POA info to allow them to discuss exit options with me. In June I was told there were no options at that time for buy back, forfeiture or cancellation. At their suggestion I contracted with Fidelity to sell the credits. Despite two discounts, we have not had a single response or offer. (No one in my family wants the service or can afford the fees; family transfer is not an option.) Today I called the Wyndham Cares team and again was told there were no forfeiture/cancellation options at this time, but there was an option two weeks ago. They could not tell me when the next option would be available, instead they suggested I keep calling and maybe I'd get lucky and the option for cancellation would be available. I've managed a lot of personal and business accounts and have never been told closing an account relied on luck. My parents spent thousands for credits and various fees over the last 20 years. They enjoyed their trips, paid for what they bought and used, and now they need a way to close their account and get out. But the Wyndham Cares team continues to deny our requests and forcing my mom to pay for something she cannot use and we have repeatedly offered to forfeit. I want them to take the credits and let us out! Timeshares are such a scam and Worldmark has been awful to deal with.

At the time of purchase, I was explicitly led to believe that the Discovery Package would provide me with access to the same destinations available to full WorldMark owners, without significant restrictions. Hector Portillo made verbal assurances that availability would be similar to what was presented during the session. However, I have since discovered that the Discovery Package is severely limited to a small number of less desirable locations, which was never disclosed during the presentation or in any supporting materials provided to me at the time of sale. I was pressured into the deal after being at the presentation for nearly 4 hours. I have attempted to contact Hector multiple times via phone and email with no response. I've also called WorldMark customer service several times, yet the results are always the same, they want me to get in contact with the sales person, who isn't responding! I believe this constitutes deceptive and misleading sales tactics, a clear violation of fair business practices. Had I been made aware of these limitations, I would never have agreed to this purchase. As a result, I have initiated a dispute with my credit card provider and am pursuing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the California's Attorney General’s office, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

This review is about Worldmark Mission Valley, San Diego. DO NOT plan to purchase amusement park tickets from the concierge desk because a string is attached that YOU MUST attend a sales presentation. I called ahead of our arrival date to inquire if we should purchase our amusement park tickets prior to arrival and spoke with the Supervisor, Kaye, she said "oh no we will take care of it here", "I won't be here that day but I'll inform my staff and they will take special care of you". I told Kaye that it would be me, my wife, and our 3 year-old granddaughter. When we arrived our granddaughter was asleep in her car seat and my wife went in to check-in and buy amusement park tickets, I stayed with the little one. After awhile my wife returned flustered and annoyed having been coerced into signing up for a Sales Presentation (the next morning) as a condition of buying amusement park tickets. We arrived at the appointed time with our granddaughter (mind you both spouses MUST attend and you MUST stay for the entire 60 minutes to receive the tickets that you've already paid for). The "desk" had no idea when the Zoo opened and could care less that we had a 3 year-old sitting through a 60 minute presentation. They also showed no appreaciation that if we did "buy something from them" that it would result in significantly more time that we would NOT be at the Zoo. After the boring and useless presentation we were issued our tickets and left. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PART OF OUR VACATION and all the Worldmark Staff cared about was that they did not make a sale.

Increased the required monthly payment for the "timeshare" (it's really just a subscription to visit their resorts very, very occasionally.) 1 or 2 minimal attempts to contact us were made (calls during the work day) which we're not in anyway distinguished from their other voicemails which are simply calls trying to sell you on a more expensive subscription. Because of this large-scale delinquency fee's were levied, interest accrued, and the account sent to a collections agency (all without us being aware at all) and it was only happenstance that one of the collections agency calls came through at a time to take the call, and luckily we decided it wasn't just a spam call. THEY DO NOT LEAVE MESSAGES! They won't attempt anything more than these spam-looking calls without voice mail or messages that you can look at determine what/who it is. The collections agent with Aspen Collections (Ed Peirce) was a short-tempered, snide, irascible man who (likely due to distance) would pause in his insistences that contact efforts were up-to-standard (legally that might be correct, it looks like no one has to notify you of price changes or debt, they just have to collect from you. Don't ask me how that is just.) and when you would begin to speak because of the pause, he would shout at you that you weren't letting him speak, which he later just moved onto threatening with loss of contact (which I guess implies we'd have to pay via them pursuing legal action) even though the connection would be the only fault, and his temper over the connection (and assuming we we're interrupting him) were the issue. Anyways, it appears to be really scummy, technically legal set of actions. But that's kind of been the Modus Operandi we've been witness to the entire time we've been "members". From fee increases, to changes without notice, to low return on investment, to endless solicitation, so on and so forth. Save yourself thousands

I deeply regret getting involved with WorldMark by Wyndham. I was pressured into purchasing a timeshare contract in January 2025 after an aggressive, high-pressure sales presentation that made misleading claims about flexibility, availability, and value. Since the purchase, I’ve found the credit system confusing and restrictive, the fees excessive, and booking availability nearly impossible. When I tried to cancel or surrender the contract, I was transferred, hung up on, and stonewalled multiple times. It felt like they were deliberately avoiding helping me resolve the situation. I’ve filed complaints with the BBB and the California Attorney General, and I’ve initiated a chargeback with my credit card company. WorldMark has made it clear they are not interested in customer satisfaction — only in locking people into contracts they can’t get out of. I’m posting this to warn others: Do not trust this company. Do not sign anything. If it sounds too good to be true, it is
