We were advised to install wordfence for added protection to our website. It has been a total disaster, you need to be very technical for the application to work.
The support is appalling unanswered emails and being locked out of my website for over 8 days now... orders requiring dispatch are inaccessible.
I can only conclude wordfence was once good, however, something is definitely amiss and so very destructive to a business dependant on accessing orders and indeed ones own website

Horrific (and non-existent) "emergency…
Horrific (and non-existent) "emergency response". We had two sites protected with the WordFence premium plugin. Both came up with white screens of death this morning, so we went to WordFence as a 'trusted' provider to hopefully help us get back online.
We fell for their $950 (NINE HUNDRED AND FIFTY) dollar "emergency" response plan where they are supposed to dedicate some urgent resources for "mission critical" websites to get you back online fast.
It look over an hour for the representative to come back and tell us that because we had 4 other subdomains completely outside of public_html on the server, that we would have to pay FOUR MORE TIMES (yes, $4000 more) to get them to even start looking at it. We proposed a counter offer, and several HOURS later they came back with another offer. At the end of the day, because time was of the essence, we fell for their trick and paid the additional $4000 thinking at least they would urgently start resolving the issue.
SEVERAL HOURS LATER (now NINE HOURS) after the emergency ticket was crated, a new "Director of Information Technology" sends us an email that they can't help us at all because there are plugins that have "obsufated code" in them and so they can't help us. They don't bother to even tell us what plugins (we suspect Membermouse, some plugins do this), or even offer to simply remove that plugin and continue their search and help.
Instead, they send that email and then ignore us. So now $5000 and 9 hours later we still have a broken site and no emergency response from Wordfence.
Their plugin is decent, but don't fall for this "emergency response' baloney. We lost a day of revenue and wasted time for their runaround. In the end, we found my.fixed.net and for $65 they had us back up and running in 40 minutes! OMG, WordFence you should bet ashamed. What a sham.

waste of resources, watch out for this
Looks like I struck a nerve but let me make my point clear.
If you design a software or service indented to "ban" or "censor" without implementing a good failsafe for users who are incorrectly banned, I find it disgusting.
Doesn't matter what or where its used.
I tried to access a manual site, yes, and got banned for some reason detailing nothing of value for me who is banned.

What a load of bull. Designing a service to bad users and then claim "If you think you have been blocked in error, contact the owner of this site for assistance." without detailing HOW.

Thanks for your thoughts about Wordfence.
From what I read here it appears you were blocked by our security plugin when you tried to visit the website for Car Repair Service Manuals PDF. I think it might be prudent to let you know that much like any other software, we don't control how a customer uses it. We don't control what settings they use or who they choose to block. The website it was installed on has the ability to provide additional messaging to let you know how to get in touch with them but apparently has elected not to use it. Additionally they don't seem to publish a way to contact them on their site, which is also their choice. https://cardiagn.com/contact-us/
Since your review seems to be one posted because your frustrated because of the policies of cardiagn.com and not based on any actual use of Wordfence you'd do better asking them for help. We wouldn't have any way of assisting. Thanks.

Serious issue
Serious issue? Who cares! I contacted 14 hours ago to inquire about suspicious activity. I have received three obtuse replies from wordfence as my site sits at risk. I will no way receive support for I'd imagine another ten hours. So I hope the party who wanted my info enjoys it, since warning wordfence as I saw this coming wasn't an issue they seemed to care about.
I see below they replied. It's nice to learn the answer to my question first came to a public facing page and not to me. We are now 30 hours into the issue and a simple feature cannot be explained to me. Rather than fixing my issue they were concerned with their outward facing image. Excellent service. Just tops.
I'm four replies deep! Shall I enlighten the public as to how I re-iterated everything the day following the incident since clearly nothing was checked then? it is 11:18 AM on 3/4/2021 ET for reference.

Hi Charles. I've reviewed your case, and it looks like two of our customer service engineers have been answering you for over 24 hours. From reading your responses and our customer service agents' instructions, it appears that someone attempted to login but was not successful. That's great! That means Wordfence is working. If you have further questions, our team is on standby to answer. Please do ensure you read our instructions and follow them so we can be of service.
We see you've edited your reply. Just so all know, you have received NUMEROUS responses and requests for further information from our customer service engineers. Please reply via the ticket so we can assist.

Upgraded, paid the $99, everything failed and can’t get support to respond...
I installed the free version on one of my sites then several more. All was good.
I then upgraded to the premium version on one of my higher-profile customer sites and it stopped working - every scan failed as did firewall. Multiple requests to ‘premium’ support but still no response after 36hrs. Unimpressed is something of an understatement.

We're sorry you had a negative experience, RBT! We show your first request coming in late in the day on Saturday, and our response on Monday. We don't provide 24/7 support. We do trust that the issues with your misconfigured scan settings have been resolved now, and we look forward to serving you in the future.
