I paid Woodbridge Publishers GBP 5,362…
I paid Woodbridge Publishers GBP 5,362 for ghostwriting, illustration, marketing and a podcast for my children's book. The book was finished about a year late, the print files failed Amazon KDP's checks, the prepaid marketing never started, and the company has still not paid GBP 2,862 of a refund it agreed in writing.
I signed the contract in March 2025. It promised delivery within 12 weeks. The illustrations were finished in June 2026, about a year after the agreed deadline. When the paperback was uploaded to Amazon KDP in July 2026, the interior was flagged for margin and ISBN errors, and the same errors came back after each attempted fix.
When I asked for the working files, I received 35 separate spread files with the text built into every illustration. There was no print layout, no spine or wraparound cover, and no copyright page carrying the ISBN. Not a single word of the book can be corrected from these files.
I also paid in full, in advance, for a three-month marketing package. In August 2026 the company confirmed in writing that work on it had not commenced.
After I sent a formal letter before action, the company refunded GBP 1,300 and agreed in writing to refund the remaining GBP 4,062 in a single payment by 30 September 2026. It then paid GBP 1,200. It has not paid the remaining GBP 2,862 and did not reply to my final demand, so I have issued a county court claim.
Payments were taken under three different names on the card statements: Appmi* Wdbrgpubuk, The Pro Website Design and Digital Tech LLC.
My advice to other authors: check which company you are actually contracting with, make the editable source files and a print-ready layout named deliverables in the contract, keep everything in writing, and do not pay for marketing in advance.
UPDATE · 10 October 2026
Woodbridge Publishers has replied to this review. The key facts are in writing.
The refund: in August 2026 the company wrote to me: "We confirm that we agree to your proposed payment arrangement. The outstanding refund balance of GBP 4,062 will be refunded to you in a single payment by 30 September 2026." It paid GBP 1,200 of that sum. Its reply now says the remaining GBP 2,862 will not be refunded.
The delay: the contract promised delivery within 12 weeks, by June 2025.The manuscript alone was only finalised on 25 August 2025. In April 2025 I was promised a timeline. It never arrived, and neither did the estimated delivery date promised in October 2025. My contact at the company changed several times during the project. I was never given a revised timeline, or told that any request of mine would move the delivery date.
The illustrations: the character design the company sent me in April 2025 was a Shar Pei, drawn from photos of my own dog. The cover style was discussed in August and September 2025 because the company sent me several options and asked me to choose. After a revised cover was promised on 18 September 2025, nothing arrived until 10 November 2025, although I chased on 2 and 18 October. The storyboard that arrived then showed a different breed of dog.
Approvals: approving draft artwork is not the same as receiving print-ready files. The files failed Amazon KDP's checks, and a printed proof showed the dog's face falling into the centre fold of the book.
The reply also discusses my pregnancy. I did not agree to that being published, and it does not change the contractual delivery date, which had already passed in June 2025.
The matter is now before the county court, and I will not comment further here.

Dear Sofia,
We appreciate you sharing your feedback and are writing to clarify the record regarding your project, the deliverables provided, and the status of your refund.
While we acknowledge that the marketing and podcast services did not commence as planned, we have already processed refunds totaling £2,500 to compensate you for those unstarted packages as agreed.
Regarding the remaining balance of £2,862, we must firmly clarify that this amount corresponds to the primary ghostwriting and illustration services contracted in early 2025. These funds have not been refunded because this core work was fully completed, approved, and delivered to you prior to your refund request.
We must also respectfully address the extended timeline of the project. The production process took over a year because, midway through the work, you requested a complete change to the illustration style, which required our team to overhaul and restart significant portions of the project. Furthermore, we adjusted our delivery schedule to accommodate your periods of unavailability due to your pregnancy and busy personal schedule. Throughout this entire extended period, our creative team continued to dedicate significant time and resources to your book, moving forward only after receiving your formal approvals at each milestone. Because these creative services were fully rendered and explicitly approved by you prior to completion, they do not qualify for a refund.
We understand you have experienced technical difficulties with the Amazon KDP formatting, margin requirements, and file layouts. While the creative content you paid for was completed as commissioned, we recognize the importance of a seamless publishing process. As a gesture of goodwill, we remain entirely willing to assist you with the specific print-ready layout corrections, spine adjustments, and ISBN placements required to ensure your approved book passes KDP's checks.
We respect your decision to pursue formal channels and will cooperate fully with the appropriate proceedings. However, our team remains available should you wish to let us resolve the technical formatting issues so you can successfully publish your book.
Sincerely,
The Management Team

Find better publisher
Have you ever dreamed about becoming an author of a published book?
Then you may discover Woodbridge Publishers — an agency that can turn the publishing process into endless delays, frustration, pointless communication, and wasted money. Their promises may sound attractive in the beginning, but the experience can quickly become disappointing.
At first, everything may sound professional and encouraging. There may be warm promises, polished emails, and reassuring words about editing, formatting, promotion, and distribution. You may feel that your long-awaited dream is finally moving forward and that someone experienced is ready to guide your book into the world.
But then the waiting begins. Days turn into weeks, weeks into months, and instead of clear progress you may receive vague explanations, repeated assurances, or requests to be patient just a little longer. The manuscript that was supposed to be polished and prepared can become a source of anxiety, because every answer raises more questions than it resolves.
What makes this kind of experience especially painful is not only the possible loss of money, but the loss of trust. A first-time author often brings more than a document to a publisher; they bring years of ideas, effort, and hope. When that hope is met with silence, delays, careless communication, or empty promises, the disappointment can feel personal.
That is why new writers should be careful before signing any agreement or paying for publishing services. It is important to check reviews, ask for examples of completed books, request a clear timeline, read every contract carefully, and make sure that all promised services are described in writing. A dream deserves support, not confusion. That’s why you must avoid business with Woodbridge Publishers to save your time, money and mental wellbeing.

Complete incompetence
Completely incompetent team. Project changed manager 4 times and even fired someone. Couldn't follow basic instructions and failed to deliver a workable book. I was told for the price I paid I only got interns working on my project and this was after I challenged the incompetence, not on the initial sales call. I attempted several times to request some form of log for change requests made but received nothing to keep track of revisions. Spoke to multiple agents where I had to repeat myself. Currently in a dispute as they refused to refund all of the money despite their 100% money back guarantee. They have been sent a court judgement but have gone completely MIA. Absolute nightmare to work with.
Response from Woodbridge PublishersSep 28, 2026
Hi Larissa,
We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your experience. However, we would like to clarify several points for accuracy and transparency.
Throughout the project, our team worked to address your requests and provide the agreed deliverables. Upon your request, we refunded you the full amount paid for the Publishing Package and also provided you with the final manuscript/files associated with the project.
Regarding the website, the situation was different. The website hosting service had already been activated and paid for when the refund was requested, and the website was already live. Since the hosting service is provided through a third-party partner, once the service has been activated and delivered, the hosting fee is non-refundable in cases where the customer subsequently changes their mind. This was also explained to you during our call a couple of months ago.
We also want to clarify that describing our company or services as a “scam” is not an accurate representation of what occurred. The project was worked on, the requested publishing files were provided, and the applicable publishing refund was processed. We have also continued to communicate regarding the remaining website-hosting matter.
We respect that customers may have different expectations or opinions regarding the service, but we believe it is important that reviews reflect the complete circumstances and the services and refunds that were actually provided.
Best regards,
Woodbridge Publishers Team

You’ll never see your sales or…
You’ll never see your sales or royalties or quarterly statement after Woodbridge put their own ISBN number on your work without your permission or knowledge. They will sell your work through their own KEP account and collect for themselves, I have proof from Amazon that they did this to me… WOODBRIDGE ARE PART OF THE Pakistan Crime Ring … I have proof of that as well …
Run as far from them as you can and let as many aspiring authors know about these type of so called publishing companies.
If you would like to contact me please call: 07536979006 or 0191 676 9469 UK

I also have evidence from Amazon KDP.
So … ‘The Alliance of Independent Authors’ have recently sent me the below message:
……………
Hi Lynn,
I’ve heard back from our advisor on your recent update. Please find their input below:
~~~
I've looked into Woodbridge Publishers, and unfortunately, I've discovered they are part of the Pakistan Crime Ring we've been documenting.
The addresses they give are either virtual maildrops, or more likely, not associated with them in any way.
I would now treat this as a case of fraud rather than a misunderstanding or incompetence.
If Lynn would like to file a fraud complaint with either company I'm happy to assist with that.
Please also see (boyofmoate) trust pilot review.
Response from Woodbridge PublishersSep 29, 2026
Hi Lynn,
We hope you are well.
We understand that you continue to have concerns regarding your book, royalties, and the publishing arrangements. However, we would like to clarify the points you have raised.
As explained to you previously through both phone conversations and email correspondence, an ISBN is an industry-standard cataloging number assigned to a publication. The use of an ISBN does not, by itself, redirect or transfer royalty payments to Woodbridge Publishers.
You can also log directly into your Amazon KDP account at any time to review the account details, including the banking and tax information associated with your book and sales.
Regarding physical book sales through our partner bookstores, the funds due to you were successfully transferred to you last year. Following that payment, your project was officially closed on our end. We also resolved the previous issue concerning duplicate Amazon listings for your book, as confirmed in our previous correspondence.
We would also like to point out that your review/comment had previously been removed, and it has now been posted again without any new information or apparent reason. We had already addressed your concerns and provided clarification and supporting information regarding the matters you raised.
We respect your right to raise concerns and seek independent advice. However, statements alleging that Woodbridge Publishers is involved in criminal activity or fraud are serious allegations. If you have specific evidence that you believe establishes such conduct, please provide it to us so that we can review and respond to the specific claims.
If you would like to discuss this matter directly, you can contact us at:
UK: +44 113 490 0487
We remain willing to address any genuine outstanding issue relating to your account or book based on the relevant records and documentation.
Best regards,
neglect of fulfilling basic aspects of contract.
I entered into a contractual agreement with Woodbridge Publishers UK in October 2023 to publish my first book, "Free Choice: The Final Battle". As part of the agreement, I paid for the distribution of 2,000 copies of my book. Nearly three years have passed, and this fundamental obligation has still not been fulfilled.
In the beginning, the company appeared apologetic and willing to help. Their customer service team was polite and responsive, and I genuinely believed they intended to honor the contract. Unfortunately, that changed over time. My calls and messages are now ignored, and I have effectively been blacklisted from receiving any meaningful communication or updates.
My disappointment is not about whether the book generated sales. It is about the company’s failure to deliver the service I paid for and their apparent lack of responsibility or accountability. Despite their courteous tone, the service team seems to feel no obligation to fulfill the terms of the agreement.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Woodbridge Publishers UK. A publishing partner should be reliable, transparent, and committed to honoring their contractual promises. Sadly, that has not been my experience with this company. Unfortunately, I feel I am pushed to handle this through litigation. It's a pity.
