This app has streamlined my freelance work

Finally! I have searched everywhere trying to find a way to manage my clients, projects, calendar, and to-dos. I've spent countless hours trying to make other programs work for my business. There was always SOME glaring hole in what each one did and they were EXPENSIVE. Hectic does everything I was looking for AND MORE, and is user friendly. And the people at Hectic are so helpful and friendly and open to new feature suggestions. And supportive of entrepreneurs. Technically, I am a "business owner" but in my heart, I am just a person with a particular skill that is marketable. I want to do what I am good at and get paid for it. What I am NOT good at is "running a business," ...invoicing, book keeping, proposals, keeping track of multiple projects, remembering details for specific projects, tracking time spent, etc. Below I put a list of things I was looking for in project management. Hectic does ALL these things but the biggest Hectic benefits I am anticipating are ones I was not even looking for -- that is creating re-usable proposal language, tracking time and easily generating invoices, and setting up re-usable forms for gathering info from clients! I've been in business over 20 years and I still cringe and die a little bit inside when a potential client says "Sounds great -- but HOW do I hire you?" or "Send me your contract..." My contract?! ummm... Hectic has that, plus gathering info from the client, all handled with their proposals and forms!!! Here are the things I was looking for when I found Hectic: -Track clients. -Have multiple projects/jobs for one client. -See projects by client - See all people involved in a project (might not just be client). -See full calendar or filter by client and/or project - Kanban board for to-dos (deliverables) by client or for all. LOVES me a Kanban board! - Track time while working* - Generate invoices based on time tracked - Pull a project up and see all my notes for it - Collaboration with clients** Things it does that I didn't think of -- - Receive payment online - Create proposals -- and they have legal language for you. - Accounting/Link to bank accounts (I think it does this) And the price is SO reasonable. I'm just thrilled. *Time tracking is great because it's tied to the project and will create the invoice. But you can edit the invoice. Sometimes I do work for a flat fee but I still track the time so I know how long, plus it shows up as needing to be invoiced and I can just replace the timed event line on the invoice with the flat fee item. (I don't forget to bill for it!) **Collaboration -- so many "project management" programs today seem primarily focused on TEAMS. But I'm a solo person. It overwhelms and confuses me when analyzing software for my purposes. I AM the team. Well Hectic works great for teams but it's not hyperfocused on just teams. It's ideal for a solo business owner. AND I can share projects with clients if I want, which is great. They can add to-dos and check things off and see progress.

As an upstart design agency working exclusively remote, it was imperative to find a project management system that was able to not only organize all our client assets in a way that was easy to find and understand, but also in a way that allowed for collaborative work between partners as we continued to work with new and existing clients from all across the country. Hectic has done just that and MORE. Their management system makes it easy to sort through deliverables, proposals and invoices and allows us to track the time spent on projects in a very detailed manor, assigning each clock-in to a specific client, project, deliverable and collaborator with the option to then add in detailed notes as to what is being completed during that session. When sending over the invoice, these notes are easily added to the bill, creating complete transparency for our clients, who have had nothing but compliments on how we strictly identify each time period worked with what was being completed. Hectic is truly an all in one freelance management platform that above all else, IS AFFORDABLE! Not to mention the guys at Hectic have been nothing short of spectacular at answering any questions or comments I have had about the system as we adjusted to it. If you are looking for a new, affordable and simplified project management system that allows for collaboration, detailed instruction and a time management system that gets the job done with no questions asked, you can stop your searching here. We love it and I think you and your team will to.

Organization is not one of my strengths, so I was so thrilled to find Hectic - it allows me to run a timer for hourly billing, add and track projects, manage clients, and process invoices smoothly. More than that, though, the customer service at Hectic is absolutely incredible. The first time I sent a question via the website's messaging feature, I fully expected to be greeted by a bot who might guide me through some basic troubleshooting, and if they couldn't resolve my problem, they'd suggest I email support for further assistance. That's pretty much the industry standard, and there's nothing wrong with that, per se. But not only did I get a response within about 2 minutes from one of the co-founders of the company; he actually took the time to record a video specifically for me (he used my name in it, so I know he'd just recorded it) to show me how to use a certain feature. I can't praise the team at Hectic enough. They've responded quickly to my questions, and not only been open to my feedback as to what features I'd like to see; they've actively asked me to go through my workflow process and offer suggestions. These are people who are genuinely passionate about helping their business succeed, and they want to do the same for their customers.

I'm in the process of scaling my freelance business and Hectic was exactly the tool I needed. I spend less time doing administrative tasks, and more time focusing on the work. I did a lot of research on similar products before making the decision to go with Hectic. I couldn't find anything else that offered everything I needed. (Invoicing, proposals, contracts, scheduling, and project management & more). Set up and learning the interface was a breeze, and they continue to take feedback from customers and make improvements. Lastly, the customer service has been incredible. The staff is quick to respond to any questions I have, and are always asking for suggestions on ways they can improve the tool. 10/10

When I started freelancing again, I was looking for something of a one-stop shop for my business management (time tracking, proposal/contract e-signing, invoicing, bookkeeping). After doing a few trials with other companies, I stumbled upon Hectic and it hits every base I was looking for—for less than their competitors. They're quick to respond to questions and have all worked as freelancers at some point, so they seem to really be in touch with the needs of their clients.

I send a lot of small, frequent invoices and proposals for my consulting business. Before using Hectic, I used Harvest and I often forgot to bill my clients for all the work I did. A lot of things fell through the cracks and I didn’t want to nickel and dime them. Now it’s so easy to get all these little things out to them that I end up billing at least $1,000 a month more.
