I love the website, and everything has been very easy to navigate so far. I collected addresses for the save the dates, and I could not figure out how to print addresses onto envelopes for households with multiple guests (e.g., combining 2 guests into 1 envelope with 1 address). I followed all the online instructions and still could not get it to work. I now have to handwrite the addresses onto all the envelopes. Wish this could have been easier!

App and website have quite different…
App and website have quite different capabilities that are not obvious (e.g. guest list features).
Overall the website is good however not intuitive and difficult to navigate. Lots of good features though.

Terrible UI/UX
I consider myself incredibly tech saavy, I work in tech, and this was one of the most challenging user interfaces I have ever tried to navigate. There is WAY too many options, drop downs, no central "here's where you're at" overview of your wedding, editing your page vs. looking at your status on planning items are all squished together and one click brings you to a page you had no clue even existed, and THE SINGLE MOST FRUSTRATING THING is the guest list vs. RSVP. They are not the same and it's created SO much confusion for people trying to RSVP or decline and for us tracking. The wedding builder webpage doesnt allow for much customization. The list goes on, it's not user friendly and I've ended up doing everything on excel sheets and just using Joy as a super simple landing page for guests.
Could I google or youtube to try and understand how to navigate better, yes. Should I have to, no.
3 Stars because it does SEEM to have a lot of features, if you can figure out how to easily navigate them it might be a great site.

Do not use WithJoy — their technical failure cost me double
Edit, I recieved a response today with an apology and full refund. I will amend my previous review to 3 stars because it did take me about 6 or 7 emails to get a response that was helpful

We had a very disappointing experience booking through WithJoy. My wife attempted to reserve a room at Westgate Historic Williamsburg Resort but received no confirmation email and saw no charge on our card, so she made a second reservation. Today the hotel called to confirm and told us there were two reservations under our name.
The duplicate reservation was caused by a clear technical error on WithJoy’s platform — no confirmation was provided for the first booking, which led us to book again. The hotel could not cancel the duplicate because the booking originated with WithJoy, and, worse, the room was re-rented to another party. That means the hotel collected payment twice for the same inventory while still charging me the full cancellation fee.
It is unacceptable to hide behind the hotel’s cancellation policy when the root cause is WithJoy’s faulty booking system. WithJoy must accept responsibility and issue a full refund for the duplicate charge immediately. Until then, I cannot recommend using this service.

Good but with downsides
Good website to have everything for your wedding in one place. However, it’s not very user-friendly! Nothing is very intuitive and some functions seem like they don’t work. When I asked the annoying AI agent to send me a human customer service rep, he was very helpful.
My fiancé and I are both pretty tech savvy so we eventually figured out everything we wanted, but I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who wants building your site to be simple and straight forward.

Just Okay.
I wanted something other than TheKnot or WeddingWire, so I went on the search to find a different website and found WithJoy. It’s decent, but since it’s newer and a smaller company, the user experience wasn’t as smooth/well-oiled as I had hoped. Every time I came across an issue and asked their customer service about it, it just wasn’t something they had developed yet. I had toyed with the idea of switching website hosts - to something more mainstream - but by then I had already put in too much work.
Pros:
-Classy look. I’m sure the other websites can be customized too, but I just felt like with their curated selections, you ended up with something classy, yet personalized.
-Inventive interactive features/website - most likely the other websites have this too, but I liked how I could change buttons, embed maps, link to another page, etc.
-Corresponding app is nice.
Cons:
-Website would sometimes take forever to load - would just have to refresh or start over. My guests had this problem too. For the older guests, this was especially confusing for them.
-They make it seem like you have to get the App to do things when you don’t. Other than being a bridal couple with this website, there is no reason to have the app.
-They have a cool idea with their “Memories”/pictures App/Page, but realistically, guests don’t want to visit another site or download another app to load/view pics.
-Some bugs with emailing - how I would format my emails and send via the site, it would not be received that way.
-Some guests did not receive our email invitation - it probably went into their junk mail, which I suspect happens with other wedding websites too, but I wonder with more well-known sites whether it wouldn’t go into junk because of the name.
If you want something different, simple, and nice, WithJoy works decently. If you want the ease of use and maybe more features, go with something more mainstream.
