Difficult to set up, app is not great, doesn't work well outside of the US and is more complicated than should be

It's been a rollercoaster. Features that seem sleek, like the contact collector, are actually clunky to use--for example, we loaded all our guest names and phone numbers into the contact collector to send out the link to collect their addresses, only to find out you can't send the link as a text from the website and we had to text it out individually. All of our envelopes came with names printed differently and I still couldn't tell you what field they pulled from for the addressee line. Best feature is the "Add to Joy" button where you can navigate to any website for a registry gift and just add it from the original site rather than having to pick through what's already on Joy.

Its cool but it be great if they could add canadian banks so that we could also use the registry in canada

This website and app is so confusing to use… while it provides everything you need I keep looking for the things I need to do. Each individual feature they offer is powerful and simple to use but the overall layout and structure of the software is super confusing

I like the ease, organization, discounts for guests, and help with planning. The downsides are glitches, the contact collector to envelope printing isn’t as smooth as I’d hoped—it wants each individual to have their address listed before listing one party in an envelope to be sure it’s all the same group instead of just assuming that all plus ones or family members have the same address so I’m having to manually add addresses by copy and paste before I can order save the dates. Overall I do like it.

I liked all the options when designing our website but we’ve had issues with our RSVP system. When I asked the live chat for help I just got a response saying “according to your filters it should be working” which I already knew and wasn’t very helpful

Joy when it works is excellent. Unfortunately, I have found glitches when building my wedding website on more than one occasion. Once I had reported the glitches, the Joy technical support team provided swift support which was great.

Overall, we had a satisfactory experience using WithJoy. Things we liked: - good selection of designs and layouts - free - (sort of) customizable - (halfway) Venmo integration. This was a nice feature to have connected in easily. About 60% ready for primetime (would like to see native API-level integration) Things we didn't like: - The registry functionality is HORRIBLE. Please avoid it at all costs. Its main purpose is to get affiliate link royalties off purchases and doesn't allow guests to use their store accounts (i.e., Amazon) to get free Prime shipping or % cashback with their Amazon Visa card. Big bust. - The Guest List table is very unintuitive. Could really benefit from a UI/UX audit. Many non-standard ways of doing things. Super confusing. Frustrating. - In general, the entire website's design/editor features are unintuitive and require a lot of time invested to figure out how to do things. Overall, you get what you pay for (free = subpar product not ready for primetime, yet used by thousands because of lack of quality alternatives). We chose WithJoy over TheKnot and Zola, and we are still happy with that decision (we tried out TheKnot and Zola briefly, but they were even worse 🥲). I guess they have to make money somehow, but an unintuitive and frustrating UI is not a way to encourage that.
