I worked really hard to make the website exactly how I wanted it... Then I tried to use the Joy app on my phone in the "view as guest" mode and it's completely useless. I thought it would show up almost exactly how the website does on a phone, but it doesn't at all. I'm really disappointed in that. I'll have to find a different app for my guests to use for sharing photos with us on our big day. Everything else has been great (so far), the website layout, the guest list, linking registries, etc. I'm just still really bummed about the app not functioning properly/not being in sync with my website at all.

I am having issues with my wedding registry on my Joy wedding website. I connected to my Amazon registry and now I am seeing all of my Amazon registry items twice on the Joy website and it's not syncing with my Amazon account as those still show all items as available even though one has been purchased. It was advertised that it was easy and seamless to connect your external registry to Joy, but this is not my experience so far.

I wish that the templates were completely customizable. The app and website are a little bit slow. I really loved the site as a wedding guest but as a bride and I’m not sure if I love it. But we’re still trying to see if we can use it.

Good website layout and free options. As long as you don't use the registry or expect customer service, you're fine.

Good platform. A lot of glitch and features missing but work pretty ok as RSVP, Email and Text. Make sure your guests put a +1 before their phone number or you will have to go throughs 300 contacts to change it manually.

If I had a do-over, I’d just use Typeform and an e-card platform. Having built my own website on a different platform, I only wanted to use the Joy rsvp feature. However, getting the settings right so that everything else was turned off while people could still access the rsvp, was super difficult. And even with all the settings correct and hotel settings turned off, people still got pushed hotel advertising after filling in the rsvp. I would rather pay two other sites to get the card animation and rsvp with no ads. The ads feel cheap and nasty, and incredibly unprofessional. Edited for clarity on 1/8/26. Also, to add that this was marked as an 'unprompted review', but I posted the review in response to an email that was sent to me asking for a review.

Great app for birthdays and events, but the follow-up emails are frustrating! I used this to plan a birthday party, yet I keep receiving emails from Joy referencing "your wedding event." If you support non-wedding events, please make sure your automated emails reflect that. A small fix that would make a big difference!

Not sure I’ll be sticking with it. Limited design options. And limited capacity for a multilingual event.
