They are a total fraud
They are a total fraud. I booked a hotel through the website. First, I discovered they charged me 3x the normal rate. Then I called the hotel to confirm the room and make a massage appointment. Guess what: they had no reservation for me. Joy never booked it. Now the hotel is sold out. I would have arrived to no room if I hadn't thought to check. Now Joy is refusing to refund me even though I literally have no room. They just keep saying you have a room with zero proof even after the hotel has also emailed them and me together to say I have no reservation and to provide the confirmation. Now they have stopped responding. They are trying to keep my money with no reservation made. This site is a criminal operation. I'm also checking now to see that my gifts are truly being sent....I doubt it. This is a total scam --BUYER BEWARE!! Never use! Wedding disaster in the making for all your guests and you!

I used Joy (with Joy.com,) to RSVP for…
I used Joy (with Joy.com,) to RSVP for my friend’s wedding. As part of the wedding site they built, there was a section linking hotels in the area. Joy markets the hotel booking session as “discounted rates for wedding guests.” You are encouraged to book directly with Joy to see hotels near the wedding venue and receive a special discount. I booked a double-queen room for $340.42 total. When I arrived at the hotel, they informed me there is no double queen room and the third-party (Joy,) had overcharged me by $218.14. I was given a room with one full-sized bed. After my stay I emailed my receipt to Joy customer service and informed them of the incorrect booking and charge. The customer service team proceeded to gas light me, misunderstand my situation, and delay the issue for weeks until finally coming back to say they were “pleased to offer” me a $30 refund. By this point, I had already had to dispute the overcharge with my credit card company and received a refund directly from them.
Despite being given appropriate documentation from myself and the hotel manager, Joy refused to rectify the situation.
You are not getting a discounted rate booking with Joy. Wedding guests will be up charged a premium and never refunded.
Please do not use this service.

Booking Error, Lost a Full Day I Paid For, and Now Joy Says I Provided “No Proof”
I am extremely disappointed with how Joy has handled a significant issue with my hotel booking at Pestana Sintra Golf.
I booked and paid for a Club House Suite, including one additional night specifically so that my mother and I could access our room at 8:00 a.m. after approximately 17 hours of international travel. I had confirmation of the accommodation I booked and had also confirmed my early-arrival arrangements with the hotel in advance.
When we arrived, however, Pestana had us booked into a different room category—the Mezzanine Suite. We ultimately had to wait seven hours, until the regular 3:00 p.m. check-in time, before the correct Club House Suite became available.
The result is very simple: I paid for an additional night specifically to have access to the accommodation I booked that morning, and I did not receive that benefit.
Pestana has attributed the room-category discrepancy to Joy, while Joy has now declined my request for reimbursement of the additional night and stated that “proof of the claim was not provided.”
I strongly disagree with that statement. I have provided information and documentation supporting my complaint, including confirmation of the accommodation booked. If Joy believes something specific is missing, I would expect them to identify exactly what additional evidence they require rather than simply dismissing the claim by stating that no proof was provided.
I am also not requesting reimbursement for my entire stay. I am asking to be reimbursed for the one additional night I purchased specifically to guarantee early access to the correct accommodation—a benefit I did not receive.
Between Joy and Pestana, I have been left in the middle while each party avoids responsibility for what occurred. From a customer's perspective, I should not have to determine which company's internal booking process failed. I made and paid for a specific reservation, and what was communicated between the booking provider and hotel did not result in that reservation being available as expected.
Mistakes happen. What matters is how a company responds when they do. Denying my request on the basis that “proof was not provided,” when I have provided supporting information, is not an acceptable resolution.
I will gladly update this review if Joy properly reconsiders the claim and provides a fair resolution.

Horrible Experience With No Resolution
Family members used this site for their wedding information, gift registry, and as a way to book the hotel. I used the site to book my reservation at a hotel. I put in the dates of the nights I wanted to reserve. For some reason when I was looking at different rooms in the hotel, the dates must have reverted back to the original dates I saw when I opened the hotel site. I did not realize that the wrong dates were reserved until I received my confirmation email from withjoy.com. I tried to call the withjoy.com company, but I could not reach anyone. I called the hotel the night of the problem and they did not receive the reservation from the site. After talking to the hotel again 4 days later, I learned that the wrong dates had been reserved at the hotel despite my multiple emails to the company. I emailed withjoy.com and explained that I just wanted to change the dates for my reservation. I did not try to cancel my reservation because it is stated that cancellations are nonrefundable. It does not state that modifications are non-refundable on the website and I just wanted to modify the reservation to the correct dates.
After emailing the company, I received AI generated emails that did not address the issue. I have been sending emails back and forth to the company and nothing has been resolved as they never tried to change my reservation dates. Despite requests to talk to a live person to resolve the issue, they refused to communicate except through email.
I have explained the situation over and over again in my emails and they refused to change the dates. Because they did not provide the service I requested, I asked them for a refund. They continue to send me emails which never address the issue. I have never been so disappointed and frustrated with a company. They actually deserve no stars for not addressing the issue and not taking responsibility for their mistake.

I paid for an extra night at a hotel due to Joy mistake
I made a reservation a few months ago to stay at a hotel from Sept 4-6 and I did not receive any confirmation at that time. Two days before my flight on Sept 2, I received confirmation that my hotel was booked for Sept 3-5. I called the a representative at the hotel to adjust the dates and I was told I would need to contact the third party I made the reservation with to make any modifications.
I reached out to a contact at Joy to fix the mistaken hotel dates and was told they were working to address the issue. I arrived at the hotel on the the 4th, stayed the night, and didn't hear back about the reservation issue until a few hours before I needed to check out for the erroneous reservation where they claimed there was nothing they could do to change the dates. I ended up needing to make a new reservation for the addition night.
When I returned from my trip, I continued my email with Joy support asking for a refund for the one night at the hotel that I did not ask for. I was told Joy requested a refund from the hotel but couldn't process anything unless the hotel approved of the refund. Joy said they never received that approval. I was told I could contact the hotel directly to get approval and the name signature of the approver which is not something I am actually able to do since I did not make the reservation.
Regardless, any refund should not need the approval of the hotel because the fault lies with Joy. I was told that their hands were tied and there was nothing further they could do to help me. I ended up paying for an extra night at the hotel that I did not use because of Joy and my communications with their support were frustrating and unhelpful.

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS WEBSITE!!! SCAMMERS!!
DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS WEBSITE, and IF ANYONE HAS CONNECTIONS TO AUTHORITIES THAT CAN INVESTIGATE THIS COMPANY, I WOULD LOVE TO GET THAT INFORMATION. I researched WithJoy after the horrible experience I just had Sep 3-6, 2026, and I am not surprised to see 27% ONE STAR REVIEWS.
I booked ONE hotel room for my husband and I in the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto for a wedding through this Joy website. I had two confirmation emails the day prior to arrival but one before, which was weird but I thought it was a glitch. When we checked in, we found out that the "GOLD" suite booked though the Joy at a premium price was actually just a regular room at the hotel. I had confirmation of gold status room. I had to pay the difference. Then I was told by the hotel that With Joy overcharged me for the regular room rate. So not only did they scam me on the type of room but also the amount I paid, AND the website booked a second room which they charged me for. I had 2 rooms booked for 2 people? I contacted With Joy and this was their brilliant, fraudulent, response (and now I know this has happened to so many other people):
From concierge at With Joy:
"We've just received a reply from the property and, unfortunately, the free cancellation request was denied.
See below the message we received:
"We have carefully reviewed the circumstances surrounding these reservations. On September 2, the eve of the check-in date, the guest contacted one of our Front Office Managers and requested that both rooms be located side by side with their family. Based on this request, the two rooms were blocked next to each other, and notes were placed on both reservations accordingly.
We would also like to clarify that the reservation the guest ultimately used was made on July 31, while the other reservation was made on August 5.
Furthermore, upon reviewing the guest’s reservation history for the exact same stay dates, we found that the guest made a total of 20 reservations for September 3-6, 2026. Of these, 18 reservations were subsequently cancelled, leaving the two reservations referenced above.
Given the circumstances, including the guest’s request to have both rooms arranged side by side with their family immediately prior to arrival, as well as the reservation history noted above, we have carefully reviewed the case and, at this time, have decided not to proceed with a refund for the No Show charge of the unused reservation.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter."
This site is run by complete scammers and need to be held accountable. This is how they make money on a seemingly "free service" for the bride and groom. I will be reporting them to their local authorities.
