I’ve had issues with adding registries…
I’ve had issues with adding registries - they were showing as black boxes and none of the “fixes” worked. I got constant emails from guests who couldn’t figure out the registry bc of the black box. I also have been unable to get the money from our honey moon fund - it is not user friendly at all and we have had to reach out to the Joy team for help. Tbd on if they are able to help.

Do not use cash funds
The wedding website itself is fine, but the registry was a really big issue for us. We had a cash fund, thinking it would be an easy way for guests to give us money, but it has been a nightmare. We tried to withdraw the money, and it wouldn’t come through, we contacted support, who constantly say give us 2-5 working days and never get back about anything, and now a month after the wedding, the guest got an email saying it was being refunded. However, they haven’t seen evidence of the money yet, making it really difficult for me to sort out and getting a guest involved is really embarrassing when it comes to wedding gifts. Money transfers should be the simplest thing on the registry, and this has been really stressful. Don’t use cash funds if you choose to use joy.

So sorry to hear about the trouble with the cash fund withdrawal. Can you email us at [email protected] with the name on the URL to your website, and the guest's name and email, so we can look into where things stand?

Issues with guest list and RSVPs
So many glitches and faults with the site. Issues with the guest list on the app and now the list has disappeared from it altogether. Spoke to the AI assistant at first which returned false information then a human that can’t figure out the issue and has just left me without a reply for days while we need to get RSVPs sorted. Would definitely advise against using.

The dirty secret behind "joy credits"
Most of the site is decent but clunky. The one issue to be aware of is the registry. Items purchased through the registry include a surcharge, which seems acceptable given they are providing their website as a service. But there is a big curveball hidden in the fine print -- if items on the registry are purchased through withjoy.com they frequently go out-of-stock after the purchase. Normally this would trigger a refund. However, the couple is forced to accept "joy credit" instead of the money. So now you can't buy the item you want AND you have to pay the extra surcharge that comes with using withjoy's registry. If this was an unusual occurrence, we could have stomached an item or two. But this happened on about half the items purchased through withjoy's registry. We eventually realized we should only link to items from other websites to avoid this happening. Customer service was no help. I view this practice as a sort of fraud.

Not user friendly for family & friends
The WithJoy site is truly beautiful and easy to navigate. I personally did not have an exceptional experience. My gift did not arrive in time (which is fine, my fault for ordering late), so I made every attempt to return. BEWARE the website says you receive an order number via email after 4 business days of purchasing, and the order number is required for cancelling. I waited received no number, and was ultimately told I could not cancel the order because the order was already shipped. Okay. I was told I now must wait for the order to be delivered and then initiate a return. After several more days of waiting, I received the gift and requested a return via the online chatting agents. I was asked about 16 times whether I was absolutely sure if I would like to return the gift. YES as if my initial request did not clearly indicate it. Then, as a last ditch attempt at making me rethink my decision, the agent stated that she contacted the bride (my sister) and was told they are “looking for the gift and thought it was lost.” I know for a fact my sister received the gift because I ordered an identical version from a different store, but after getting in touch with my sister to confirm, she was baffled, stating she was never contacted. I’m just astonished, as contacting a bride with false accusations and igniting confusion ahead of a special day is just absurd and poor customer service. It’s also embarrassing, you show the gift’s receiver the price of the gift and the immense struggles you are facing in handling this order. Luckily, it was my sister and I’m familiar with her, but I would hate for others to experience this with a more distant relative or friend. For how expensive wedding gifts are, the process for returning and refunding should be more user-friendly and not “seamless and guaranteed” as their website promises. Overall, the site was cute and easy for purchasing, but not user friendly in the slightest. There is also no phone number contact, making any questions or concerns incredibly difficult to address. It’s been 12 days and I still have no return label.

If I ever get married again I would never used Joy again...
I chose Joy for my wedding planning mainly because of the aesthetics of the website templates. But everything after that is a nightmare. The registry was the biggest pain. We would have guests purchase gifts from Joy and after a while Joy would let us know that the gifts are out of stock. This happened to 50% of our registry. And what's worse is they only refund you with Joy credits. We can't even cash it out to purchase the gift somewhere else. We ended up using all the credits to get something else from Joy. When guests asked us about how was the item they sent us it was total embarrassment and awkwardness. We also received gifts purchased from Joy being broken. TWICE. And the entire exchange the return process is just a waste of time. This totally ruined out wedding registry and just such an unpleasant memory to be part of my wedding.

The site is incredibly bulky and not…
The site is incredibly bulky and not intuitive. The app is slow and buggy. Theres only 140 characters available for the dress code. Settings exist in too many places. The rsvp process isnt transparent specifically with plus ones.
