Usually they are pretty quick in my experience, but what’s with the holding instant debit card payments they receive until the next business day?! It shows as pending so you clearly have the money, so just give it to me already. That type of stuff is what makes me so livid... Holding money just because they can!

PROS * It pays your quarterly taxes for you although you have to set it up correctly and remember to tell the system "yes I want to pay now." * they give you some guidance but you decide exactly how much money (%) to withhold from each paycheck to save for quarterly taxes. * They have been more responsive recently than they were in the past. Support still has some room for improvement. For example, not all of the agents understand the system and some do not communicate effectively via email. * transferring money to your bank account is easy, although it is slow compared to other financial institutions and because of poor website usability it's difficult to track when the transaction will take place or if it has taken place. CONS * Usability is poor. Much of the website is designed for employers and there is relatively little information for independent contract workers and it's difficult to find that information. The search function is not helpful, the navigation panels and menus are not intuitive, and it's difficult sometimes to differentiate between information for employers versus information for independent contract workers until you have read some of the document. I communicated with Wingspan several months ago about this issue and even recorded a 3–4 minute video demonstrating how difficult it is to find information on the website. But the website had not changed since that communication several months ago even though they said they were actively updating the site to improve usability. Note: Trustpilot requires us to specify an experience date. I've been using Wingspan for over a year. Therefore I picked a random date.

My work uses Wingspan, and I am right now yet again, waiting for my payroll with no idea how much or when I'm going to see it. It for some reason gets a little later every check. It was 6:30PM, then 8:30ishPM, now I'm at almost 9:30PM and not understanding why they cannot be consistent.

I am a therapist and joined Rula who uses Wingspan. I have never spent so much time trying to get the right paperwork to them. I tried to get withholding to work and could not. I have outstanding payments from 2 weeks ago that have still not hit my account. On the good side, they have been very responsive to my communications.

Unfortunately, what started out fairly good has deteriorated over time. First, let's talk about how they pushed the Wingspan Wallet on our group saying we would get paid a day earlier. I signed up for that, and for the first few months it worked well. Then it got to be later in the day and no payment. Their own staff didn't even understand what we had been told about getting a day earlier; when I complained loudly, I finally was told that it would be available after noon. They then changed banks. Should be simple. Disconnected the card from the bank account associated with the Wingspan Wallet and while I have a new account number, I was never given a new card. Fast forward to finding out today, the day I am supposed to see the funds in my account, and I get an email stating I will see the funds August 16--two days past the date I'm supposed to get the funds. Their customer service doesn't answer their phone and they say they will contact you in 24 hours. Sure, but they likely will not even answer the question you asked or give you a straight answer. I absolutely hate this company.

If something goes wrong - you can't call them. If something goes wrong they'll respond only once every 24 hours. Their approach to customer service when they are holding your money is NOT ok. They are fine 80% of the time - but that's not what matters is it. How they handle problems isn't ok.
