We LOVE it that there is NO DISQUIETING, NERVE-WRACKING BACKGROUND MUSIC like there is in nearly all other stores. It is delightfully quiet; we can actually hear the little sounds of life: bags being torn off the roll for produce; the sound of items being dropped into the carts; bulk items being put into bags--stuff like that. THANK YOU!

Winco in Herriman Utah is my favorite…
Winco in Herriman Utah is my favorite grocery store by far. The employees are always eager to help; great customer service attitudes. Prices are always good. The store is kept clean and orderly. I can always find most everything I need.

WINCO FOODS BAD!!!
DISCLAIMER: Due to WINCO, I feel the need to state that this is MY OPINION!!
WINCO’s negligence changed my life forever, and they still refuse to take responsibility for the harm they caused. Because of the traumatic brain injury I suffered, I lost my job, my stability, and even my home. I was publicly humiliated due to an unreasonable detention by the South Salt Lake Police. They made me sit on a curb in public as they investigated the alleged crime.
They detained me due to a lie (or reckless reporting by WINCO) as far as a PREVIOUS trespass that was allegedly served on me prior, but this was NOT true. I believe this was done so they could serve me and ACTUAL trespass order for 100 years.
My memory, my ability to learn, and my capacity to retain new information have all been diminished. Everyday tasks that used to be simple now feel overwhelming, and functioning in a workplace has become almost impossible.
Losing my home was devastating. After investing over $100,000.00 into my forever home, I had to sell it to avoid losing it due to lack of payment, I lost my 2.8% interest rate as well, so a new home at 7% is out of the question.
I also had to sell my brand‑new Dodge Ram 1500 Warlock because I could no longer afford the payments. I’ve been waiting over a year for long‑term disability, trying to survive while thousands of dollars in medical bills are in collections. The total was around $75,000, and I had to fight just to get some of it reduced or settled. It’s been exhausting, frightening, and deeply unfair.
To make everything even harder, WINCO banned me from all of their properties for 100 years. A century. After everything I’ve already been through, they added humiliation and exclusion on top of my injury. They even sent me a cease‑and‑desist letter, telling me to basically stop speaking out (In my opinion). In my heart, I believe this was because of the peaceful protesting I do on the outskirts of their property — protest that is protected by my right to free speech. I believe WINCO is sick of my protests and are trying to kill my free speech.
Three attorneys have worked on my case, but Utah’s laws are stacked so heavily in favor of corporations that none of them felt they could take it to court. I was told by these attorneys that if we sued in BOISE, IDAHO, where WINCO is based, they would have taken it to court. I’ve been left to fight this battle largely on my own, with the help of friends and family to help me navigate through the barriers that were not there prior, despite the life‑altering consequences I’ve suffered.
I created a Facebook group called “WINCO SUCKS” to share my story and document this painful journey. It’s an opinion page — my voice, my experience, my truth.
WINCO issued a cease‑and‑desist letter partly because of that page, but I will not be silenced. My right to speak, to protest, and to share what happened to me is protected, and I intend to continue using my voice.
This has been one of the hardest chapters of my life. I’m still standing, still fighting, and still speaking out — not just for myself, but for anyone who has ever been harmed, ignored, or pushed aside by a corporation that refuses to do what’s right.
WINOC Foods needs to improve PR and treat customers AND employees better and fairly

Winco is not worth the effort
Winco at Arizona Ave & Baseline in Gilber Az has been the recipient of 90% of my grocery spending since the store opened. However, it is becoming too much of a burden to continue to shop there. I applaud the new enforcement of the ten item limit at self checkout though I think 15 items is more realistic. Proposals in New York, Ohio, and Washington are gaining momentum for a 15 item maximum limit.
The real issue is their total lack of regard for the customers’ time budget. I have always believed it should never take more time to check out at a live cashier than it does to do your shopping.
With that in mind, my last 3 visits found me putting items back rather than enduring the long lines of at live cashiers. I am sure I am not alone in that mindset when entering your store. With me making the conscience decision to limit my items cuts into their total receipts
This morning, which is Sunday September 20th, 2026, I had over 10 items but only two live registers were open with about 10 people in each line. That is completely unacceptable and is a gross insult to their customers. NOBODY was happy to be trapped there! It took me almost 20 minutes to check out and nobody from the store cared but the customers were simmering.
I fully understand that the grocery industry is in turmoil with rising cost and slimmer margins. As an employee owned store, I would hope that the customer experience would be high on their priority list. Why have 15 (a guess, I did not count them) registers when only 2 or 3 are ever open.
No thank you! It’s like you handed me a personal invitation and a quarter to go to the new Aldi store just outside of your parking lot. I’m sure I will see some of their former customers there.

Great prices overall
I like that they offer great prices and have a large brand selection as well as a bulk foods dept. I do NOT appreciate them NOT putting out green ties to close produce bags. Oftentimes lacking checkers but checkers are friendly. Excellent location somewhat near me

If you buy a sandwich at WinCo
If you buy a sandwich at WinCo and then stand outside to eat it. Security will blackball you from their store forever and use trespass as an excuse. So don't buy anything at this store and eat it or use it outside the store in their parking lot or you'll never get to go back. Their security policy is so bad and their heads are up their ass so far the lump in their throat is their nose.

What is the secrecy about EV Stations?
What is the secrecy about building of EV charging stations in the Winco Parking lots. I asked two senior employees at the Meridian ID Winco what was being built in the parking lot. "They said they didn't know. It must be in some other parking lot". It took a closer look at the construction and it looked like EV charging stations. Then I googled EV charging at Winco and found out Winco has gone into partnership with and EV company. WHY tell the employees to keep their mouths shut!!!!
