Hi Melodie, Thank you for providing that valuable feedback. We're sorry for the issues with the Spotlight you received. We can assure you we don't send out used pieces. The pieces we send are factory fresh from the manufacturer. Regarding the fiber "looking like straw," after two weeks, it is a heat friendly fiber, so tangling and matting are common. However, there are easy fixes that can help with this issue. However, it sounds like you have figured out a way to solve it temporarily.
