This thing is great but has one down side. When my dog runs off and you try to track him down the tracking is not in what I call real time. By the time I get where my pooch is supposed to be he's down the road a bit. You have to track/refresh GPS to find again and that takes a few seconds for the unit/cellular data to locate again. My dog has seen me coming and will run away so this makes this a bit of a pain but at least I know about where he is. Other that that this is great. I often move the base and dog to my parents and load that location as home with the geo fence and mom has the free app on her phone and gets the notifications/texts/emails etc. great piece of mind knowing he can be found and not have to wait for someone to find him and call the number on his collar. I lit works on kids too. Unit is small and I charge battery every 5-7 days weather it needs it or not. App tells you battery percentage. I just wish they could get the tracking closer to real time.

For the most part everything works really well with this. I do, however, sometimes have issues with one of the whistles showing my dog outside of the zone. I have tried resetting it, reconnecting it to a different port, etc. For some reason it just doesn't work.

I live outside Detroit, where dog theft is rampant. With the whistle on their collars, I don't have to worry. I am notified when they leave the yard, able to track their exact location, it notifies me when the whistle needs to be charged, when it is done charging, how much activity and rest they get each day. It's amazing and a lot of security.

Works like a charm! Would like a more realtime tracking.

I had very little problem with the Whistle GPS device other than a dead zone in my backyard, which is no way Whistle's fault. I used it on my ~10 lbs cat, and never ran into any real trouble with it. I did end up cancelling the service simply because I found a better solution for the problem of keeping my cat inside.

I currently have 2 trackers. They give me peace of mind when I'm not home. The only issue is 1 of my trackers gets stuck.

I am very happy with this GPS. I have a hound and he runs off all the time. But I don't have to worry because all I have to do is text track, and it updates every 3 minutes to tell me his location. The company also emails a monthly report on how much activity your pet is getting. This GPS collar has saved me and my hound!

I'm still in my trial run of Whistle, going on month 3. The technology and the idea of this is truly amazing. My only issue is simply geographical. I live in a small town and own a small corner lot. Until they get to a point where you can shrink the radius down, this is more built for people with a large plot of land. It updates position every 12 minutes, I wish it signaled you the moment the it left the whistle zone. That's really my only gripe, but I'd definitely recommend this to anyone that has a dog that enjoys freedom, but loves to wander.
