Whistle does what it advertises, just a lot slower than I would like. When my Huskies leave the Whistle Zone, I am not alerted to it right away, it will take between 3 to 10 minutes for me to be alerted. 3-10 minutes with a Husky and you are talking long gone. Once they leave the Whistle Zone, it may take a minute or two for the App to get a GPS signal, but I feel it acquires it in an okay amount of time. Again, faster would be better, I'd give tracking alone 4 stars. The delay on when they leave the Whistle Zone is 2 stars for me. So they get 3 stars from me. As soon as they lose connection with the base station, I would like to be notified. I'd take reduced battery life for instant notification that they left the zone.

A full charge seems to last about 3 days. If my dog takes off on day 2 1/2, I only have 1/2 day to retrieve him. You get my point. So to battle this, I have to charge to full on a daily basis which is a pain. I love the idea of begin able to track via GPS and it would be nice to have a charge hold for a week so that I only have to charge every 3 or 4 days.

My dachshund is a slow wanderer in a rural setting, so the three minutes between pings works ok for me. If you have a fast dog in a high traffic area, it could be a concern. The warnings and updates being sent to me via text are very helpful. In this area we have only had street addresses for a few years. The addresses aren't always accurate. All that said, for the price and my situation, it's a wonderful thing to have.
