Whistle changed the connection of their collars but doesn't show that when you're ordering replacement parts. The connection looks identical, but the new version doesn't fit the old style. They seem to be going for getting a few extra bucks by making you buy accessories again and again by making slight changes that don't really change the way the product works but nickle and dime's you.
Now I've got collar attachments I can't use. If they were honest about the change they would have a They should have a notice on their page asking which style you need.

Hello Travis,
Thank you for taking the time to take our Customer Support survey. We appreciate all the feedback and suggestions we get from our customers and we want to do everything we can to improve your experience.
I do apologize for the mix up. I did just put in an order for a snap attachment and a velcro attachment for you. I also refunded the whole charge for your order and you should see this refunded back into your account in 5-10 business days.|
Did you have any more questions or concerns, Travis?

This product has great potential
This product has great potential. I have recommended it previously to many people who want a simple to use and relatively easy to understand phone interface. Unfortunately the mechanism for attaching to the collar is extremely weak (I have lost two units), and fatally flawed. Worse yet, the latest, top of the line model, does not include the collar mechanism necessary to hopefully fix this design flaw.... get this, you have to order the collar separately for an extra $29.95. Not very clear on website, borders on deceptive. As proof of this poor description, I had to make two orders to get the entire product. We're getting into the price range where I could have just ordered a solidly designed and more functional Garmin tracker, when I look at the overall amount I have invested in Whistle products. The software interface was pretty clean, although all the iterations have left me with 2 versions on my phone that I can never figure out which I should be using. Who knows I could be paying multiple subscriptions too. We'll see how it goes transferring whistle 3 subscription to the go explore. I'm guessing this will involve even more of money and duplication of service (lose it, you still use it) from what I can tell.

I am sorry to hear you have had issues with our collar attachments. If you'd like I can send you out the velcro attachment to try out. Also it's a pretty simple process to swap your subscription from your Whistle 3 to your Whistle GO device.

Follow the steps in this link. If you do this the plan will swap over to the new device.
If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to reply back to this email to get through to me directly.

New collar attachments
The new attachments for the Whistle Go Explore are not made very well. I had to use zip ties to attach the new attachment as it is limited on the size collar your dog uses unlike the previous models with the band. They should have not changed the size of the attachment part. I had to order a new attachment because the plastic broke off on my makeshift zip tie attempt. Just ordered the new hook and loop version they have. Wished they would have included this in the first place. I have been a loyal Whistle customer (previous 2 versions) but they missed the mark and changing the size and style of attachment on this one.

Whistle...A step backwards from Tagg
I was recently forced into purchasing a new device because my original Tagg device (before Whistle bought them out) would no longer be supported due to Verizon discontinuing the 2G network service (no fault on Whistle here). I was excited to get a new device with new features and sprung for the collar as well. What I found was that the new device has worse battery life - the old unit would get between 4 and 30 days depending on how often we got away from the home base or had poor cellular signal with the average being 2-3 weeks between charges going out for at least 2+ hours per day on a walk. This isn't a huge issue, but I found that when the Whistle Go Explore is on cellular that it consumes roughly 5% battery life for every hour you are away from WiFi, so you need to keep the charger handy.
I have also found that the quality of the unit isn't as great. Using the collar they provided and putting my dogs rabies tag on the provided loop, it would constantly strike the unit and cause deep scratching. Over time I'm sure this would lead to premature death of the unit. Using my own collar this isn't an issue, but it took years of using my Tagg device before it had nearly as much damage to it as this unit received over the first week of use.
The flashlight app is a gimmick at best, but when I tried it out, it would constantly lock up the app and either fail to turn on, or turn on and leave it impossible to disable. I found if you force close the app and try again, it would usually work correctly after 3 or 4 tries, but it was really a gamble if it would even work whether on bluetooth connection while my phone was on WiFi, or Cellular. Never once was I able to get it to work on the first try or in less than 3 minutes of trying to use the "feature." When I contacted support about this they claimed there are no known bugs and didn't offer to troubleshoot.
Accuracy has went down as well. With my Tagg unit I found that on average it would be within 10 feet or so of where my dog was. With this unit in track mode, it frequently shows her over a block away from where she's actually at and on more than one occasion didn't alert me that she was gone until we were over 15 minutes away from the house. I realize it updates every 6 minutes, but the Tagg would alert you immediately when it disconnected from the base, so this is a huge step backwards. Even when we have excellent cellular coverage, this device doesn't perform as well as my 4+ year old Tagg device.
The insight reports that are advertised for the product to show how often your dog is licking/scratching are not only not supported (per their support team), but they even went as far as to claim this feature doesn't exist - even when I provided a URL to their website which states it does. I found these reports didn't exist in the app or within the weekly digest email and was part of the reason I purchased the Go Explore.
Lastly I had issues from day 1 with the order and their support team. I was told on their site I couldn't purchase the magenta color because it was out of stock, so I purchased the green option, only for them to tell me 8 days after purchase that it's not available to ship. During many conversations with support I was offered a free month of service for miscommunication and was told I would receive $30 towards service credit as part of the promotion for being forced into an upgrade. Not only did neither credit make it to my account, I was told I was wrong when I asked them about it and after I showed them the email for proof, they stated they would return the $30 to my credit card and it would take 3-5 days to show up. Over a week later and it never showed up.
I believe the Whistle acquisition of Tagg really pushed this company back instead of forward, and have elected to return my device and look for a company that values being honest and my business. The amount of time I've spent with support on these issues is ridiculous and they've provided zero actual assistance during my time of troubles. I wish Whistle the best and really hope they appoint someone to product management who can properly guide them forward as they release new products, but I will no longer be a part of a dishonest and unhelpful company.

Unacceptable customer service business practice.
I ordered a Whistle Go in the bright green on 8/28/19. On 8/29, I decided to cancel my order since back ordered with no approximate delivery date and emailed such to Whistle. On 8/29 I received a “form” email from Whistle to go to their website where faq info was. Again on 8/29 I responded that their emailed solution was unacceptable. I was then told I would have to wait until it arrived, refuse the delivery and have it returned to them for a refund. I then threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau and immediately they emailed that my item would be shipped the next business day. It was delivered when I wasn’t home to refuse. It’s now September 12 and I have emailed them 3 times as to return process due to their return guarantee and have received no reply. I will be reporting them to BBB as soon as I finish this review. This is unacceptable business practice.

Hello Virginia,
You will be emailed a return label within the next 24-72 hours. Most likely the latter part of that since it is Friday and our shipping department will be out of the office for the weekend. Once you receive the label use it to send us back the device. Once we do receive it we will issue you a refund, after we issue the refund it will take 5-10 business days before you see it deposited into your account.

Hello Tee,
Thank you for taking the time to take our Customer Support survey. We appreciate all the feedback and suggestions we get from our customers and we want to do everything we can to improve your experience.
I am sorry to hear that you've had issues with your order. I do see that you ordered the gray Whistle GO Explore. We are currently out of stock on those items and your order has been placed into back order. Once we do have some in stock, hopefully next week, the order will be sent out. When you do receive the order, you can reply to this email and let me know and I will refund you $10 towards your order because of the whole stock ordeal.
