Great for peace of mind!
I have this on my little escape artist. We live out in the country and sometimes he gets away and chases deer and squirrels up into the hills behind our home. It is helpful to know that he is not running toward the roads where he could be hit by a car. I love the fact that I can upload a picture of him and it shows his picture and location on the map. The activity tracking is nice as well. It does require charging a little more than once per week, but it does signal you when the battery is low, so you can put it on the charger. It also lets you know when the battery is charged, so you can put it back on your dog. It does take several minutes, before it alerts you of an "escape", but I usually don't need notification of that. I am generally with him when he runs off. People always ask me if it is a shock collar and when I tell them what it is, they think it is totally cool and they want to know how to get one. If he were to get hurt on one of these excursions, it would totally save his life, because I would be able to find him if he couldn't get back to me. The monthly fee is totally worth it.
