Whistle is the best tracker we have used (tried 3 others)! Batteries last an acceptable length of time, location and tracking is very good, and great customer service! We will be sticking with Whistle!

I have 3 whistle 3 gps trackers..two I’ve had for 1.5 -2 years....I hesitated for a long time buying this because I feared the tracker would be too heavy & bulky for my cats. However I decided to try since all other specs listed is what I was looking for. My initial fears were silenced because my cats weren’t bothered by the devices at all....the weight isn’t too heavy. What I will say that when my cats roll on ground or rub against something the devices takes some abuse but the devices are hardy and have held up well. The next issue to solve was what brand of collar to use ....I of course never considered anything but a breakaway collar but a majority of these snap off so easily that most would fall off with the device on & had risk of losing my investments....I recommend any cat owner to look at Rogz breakaway collars....I initially bought them because they reflect light at night and can adjust the collar to three different tensions before the collar would break away. These collars have proven excellent and worked flawlessly for me. First please check the 3g Att coverage map where you live....my coverage for this where I live was good & the better that coverage is the better the device will work. The device isn’t perfect meaning you think it will locate anywhere your cat is but there are areas maybe your cat is that signal doesn’t get to not because it can locate accurately just the signal can’t get transmitted to the device...I have learned where those area are where i live. There aren’t a lot of them, just a few so when I see the last location of close to those areas I may not be able to get a location on my cats if I decide to update location. I just wait a bit & try again & usually they have moved onto area where location can be updated. This isn’t live tracking but it’s close enough for me....also I have adjusted my settings to the device to update location every 15 minutes instead of every 5 minutes to save battery life. Regarding battery life ....not sure I agree with 7 days....I believe if your cat’s device stayed mainly in home area which uses your wifi and battery life is used minimally then yeah the battery would life would be 7 days. My experience has been 3 days but let me say I usually will take the device off when the charge gets below 50%....I don’t mind recharging that frequently because I have a large catio enclosure and my cats stay inside this when I am not home but if your cat is outside cat and has ability to go at will the battery will likely drain faster....now that I have had these for awhile I have learned my cats roaming patterns which is also useful info to know. The app function is straight forward and you can update location at anytime or hit track which is close to real time location. Yes there are times where the device is unable to be located but honestly it’s never for long. I do recommend getting the snap on attachments....the attachment that comes with the device is secure in beginning but the material seems to loosen over time and just feel anything that can be the most securely attached is best way to go....
