Buyer beware
I did not try the product so I can not say if it is any good or not, I will say this company has the worst customer service and I refuse to use any company that treats their customers as their customer service treated me. For shipping, there were two choices. Free shipping with USPS, or $14.99 and get it within 2 business days with UPS. Ordered product on a Wednesday, paid the $14.99 to get it by UPS. Got it Saturday from USPS. After calling in several times to find anyone, I finally got someone and when I tried to get a refund for the $14.99 because I didnt get the product from the delivery service that I had paid for, I was told no because "the service has already been used", Kyle N. who I was speaking with told me a supervisor would call me back. Next thing I know, he sends me an email stating that he is a supervisor and that I was rude to him. I am still waiting for the information to return the product.

Stopped working after a few months
Have been meaning to write this review for a while and just got an ad for it that reminded me. We had Whistle for about 2 years. The good: It works pretty well if you live in an area with good AT&T reception. App is pretty easy to use.
The bad: Terrible customer service, the tracker kept breaking down, and bad battery life.
I don't know if we just kept getting unlucky, but the tracker used to work only for a few months before it started malfunctioning throwing different error codes. We got the unit replace twice but the issues remained. On the third replacement request Whistle said it wouldn't replace it. So we cancelled. Maybe it's expecting too much but I think a $100 product should last longer than a few months and should work for a couple of years at least, and if it doesn't then the company should replace it no questions asked.
So buyer beware. While it may work great, if you get a lemon you are stuck with terrible customer service.

Hi Mahu,
I am so sorry for your experience with your Whistle tracker and I will try my best to turn around your experience in the best possible way. Since I was unable to look up your account, would you be able to provide either your email address or the serial number of your Whistle tracker (located at the back of the tracker) so that I can assist you in a better way. Looking forward to hearing from you.

SCAM
Our whistle doesn’t work and I have contacted the company repeatedly being ignored. It is infuriating. I tell everyone to avoid whistle. It’s a scam.

A better customer service experience PLEASE!
Ive been a customer of Whistle for 2 plus years. I like the service very much but after going through 4 trackers in 2 years I can honestly say that the tracker hardware thats used is not adequate. i called customer service with the same issue as before, after only a few months the device does not hold a charge for more than 2 days. I was told to do a hard reset and then charge the device overnight... same result. After calling customer support again I was told that the device will not hold a charge for more than 2 days since our dog is outside the wifi coverage in the yard (we live on 10 acres) or out exercising and after a number of excuses Sunny (customer service rep) told me that because the device is outside my wifi coverage it will only last 2 days, just like a cell phone. Really! That is not accurate. My experience has been with a new Whistle 3 device it will hold a charge for 6-7 days with the same amount of activity. After going around in circles with Sunny I was offered the newer device (2x the cost) with better improved battery life. This was not what I wanted or needed. What Id like is for them to replace the device that only had 8 months on it. That was not to be. Unfortunately I was so disappointed with the customer service experience that I cancelled my account.

Hi Dennis,
I am sorry if I was not clear in explaining the battery issue in my earlier email!
Your device remains more than 25% of the time outside WiFi range. Property as big as yours will definitely not be covered by WiFi range unless your use extenders. With device being outside WiFi range and constantly pings cellulars network for GPS signal it will force device to use more battery. Along with this device is getting older (10 months) and will have normal battery wear and tear which additionally impacts battery life.
I hope I was clear in explaining the exact reason for battery not being holding charge for more than 2 to 3 days. Please let me know for any further clarification!

Didn't work-Was on hike yesterday & used the track…
Didn't work well while on hike yesterday & used track feature to test location of my dog as she was leashed & w/me. It took 24 mins to give her location which is unacceptable. It accurately showed my location but worthless bcs if I let my dog hike off leash, 24 mins to track her is WAY TO LONG. In that time she could run VERY far & into the road or other danger. AT&T, Verizon & Sprint all work in my area. I'm going to call or email Whistle because I want this tracker to work in timely manner bcs would be awesome if it did! Thurs 3/26/20: Hi, yes will share info. Email me or post your email here & I'll email u, thanks!

BEWARE buyer!!!!
BEWARE buyer! False advertising and horrible customer service! Items are used and refurbished and are being sold as new especially Wistle three products!! The worst customer service in 40 years!! A supervisor is never available they have to email you and if by some small chance you do reply back to them, they call you the next day and let it ring once and hang up they did this three times to me! Then when you call them back 10 seconds later they say they’re not available and you have to go through the same hoops once again! It’s been three days and I still haven’t talk to a supervisor!! Wistle 3 gave false notifications on a regular basis in fact I’ve had more false readings than accurate ones and I’ve been using it for over a year I am now canceling after giving them way too many times to make it right!

I have been using this for over a year…
I have been using this for over a year in the event that my cat, who only goes out and sits on our patio, somehow decided to explore. We did do a test run by taking it well off the property, but didn't think about the case where the pet would be just outside the safe zone but hidden. We have not had to rely on it until recently as he finally did decide to go beyond his usual routine. What I found out is that the selected safe area is worthless and that my cat had to be two properties away before my wifi cut out and it notified me...and we all live on 2+ acres lots here. I'm not sure of the purpose of the selected area since I was told by tech support that it doesn't matter what the safe area is set too if the wifi reaches beyond that. In addition, the device does not regenerate for a minimum of 3 minutes, so if the pet is a good distance before wifi stops picking them up and then travels another three minutes, your pet could be pretty far away before you get your notification. Lastly, the device saves battery if your pet stays within wifi but only notifies you when it is super low. The day that my cat got free, when I was finally notified, I got a low battery indicator at the same time. If we hadn't been able to find him quickly, the battery would have been dead in no time (because it dies quickly off wifi) and we would have had zero chance in finding him. Lots of flaws with this system. My phone location is always spot on, on their app, but the pet location is highly inaccurate. I will be continuing to use it until I find a better option. I purchased one with a light because I think that will help me way before the notification does.
