The gps device seems to work good but…
The gps device seems to work good but the mounting systems leave much to be desired. The mount sent with the unit depends on a neoprene strap that stretches from one side of the Whistle 3 GPS mount, around the dog collar, and to the other side of the mount. It doesn't last long so expect to order more. There is a replacement mounting system that relies on a plastic piece which snaps into the GPS device mounting base but the combo will only work on thin collars. My dog collars meet the max 1" width requirement but are too thick for the mounting system. I have higher quality collars for my dogs which are thicker and so the mounting system will not work. I spent money for this mounting system which will only work on thin collars. Someone at Whistle seems to have not noticed that dog collars come in more than one thickness. Their website mentions that the mounting system only works on 1" or less wide collars but not mention anything about the thickness of the collar. All of my dog collars are 1" and less in width but are too thick for their mounting system.

I am sorry to hear you are having issues with the plastic snap attachment. We do state on our website, the snap attachment is meant for collars 1inch wide or less.
