The WhisperKool 2000i worked well and consistently for just over two years, and then died. Actually it was the condenser that turned up its toes so the unit did not cool at all. WhisperKool referred me to a local service outfit, which cost me $125 for them to come and confirm that the condenser was shot and that it would cost more than just getting a new one than to have them take it to the shop to replace the condenser. They suggested that this is a regular occurrence with the WhisperKools. After several weeks trying to work with WhisperKool, they finally said it would send a new one, which took a week to arrive. It is now installed and it has been working well for the past three days. However, it does not say much for the quality of the units (or lack thereof) or for the company that the units last only a bit over two years and that then one gets a runaround from the company that wasted several weeks, until they realized that I was not going away and then should just stand up and do the honorable thing. Only time will tell if the wine came through the ordeal unscathed.
