Car rented from Wheego Alicante via 'Stress Free' car rental for a family of 3 including a 1 year old. The agent Fernando Alves tried to charge me on arrival for being late without notice €315. When that didn't work due to my email evidence, the next opportunity was on return of the car. A small mark on the rear bumper was coincidentally identified by the same agent much to his delight. In order to catch our flight from the off premises location, I regrettably conceded to pay the full excess of €1,150 on the understanding I would only be charged for repair costs and refunded the remainder. Fast forward 1 month of waiting for a damage report on which to raise an insurance claim, the repairs were quoted at €790 with no further substantiation or evidence of liability. While I await my excess insurance claim, I am currently owed €360 from Wheego. Nearly 2 months later (from the date of returning the car), I have not been refunded. There seems to be no way to escalate except through emails which are not acknowledged. I would describe the experience with Wheego as exploitative, opportunistic, misleading and fraudulent. Avoid at all costs and use a more reputable vendor. Do not rely on brokers which unfortunately disguise and effectively legitimize unacceptable business practice.

Cheap rental prices entice you in. When returning they found a MINOR paint scratch 40mm long on the lowest part of the rear bumper. The car had done over 40k miles, so probably had another 10 of these scratches not identified on the car log. I didn't push this as I didn't want the 1340zl charge to increase any more. The car had a few dents also which no doubt had been charged to previous customers to repair and not followed up on, despite the repair damage charges being applied. My advice is use one of the main stream rental companies such as Hertz or Enterprise. Slightly higher initial costs but WELL worth it in the long run due to these ridiculous claims and rental office locations.

Unfortunately, I feel I was completely scammed by a member of staff at this company. When I went to collect the rental vehicle, a member of staff was there. I presented my UK bank cards, including my credit card, but was told they could not be accepted because they only showed my first initial rather than my full first name. I was then told that I would have to pay double for the rental and pay for a full tank of fuel in order to proceed. What I find extremely suspicious is this: if my cards were genuinely unacceptable because they only displayed my first initial, then why were they suddenly acceptable once I agreed to pay double? If the cards were not valid, surely paying extra should not have changed that. I also paid for a full tank of fuel, despite the fact that I never used it. I returned the vehicle with approximately half a tank remaining, so I was effectively charged for fuel that I never used. When I returned the vehicle, there was nobody there. I therefore had no opportunity to speak to anyone about the fuel or the charges in person. Trying to resolve everything afterwards by email was an absolute nightmare. Getting a response was extremely difficult, and despite raising my concerns and questioning whether these charges were lawful, my concerns were not properly addressed. The whole experience has left me feeling completely ripped off. The explanation regarding my cards, the fact that I was charged double for the rental, being charged for a full tank of fuel that I didn't use, and the lack of any staff member available when I returned the vehicle are all extremely concerning. I strongly warn anyone considering using this company to be extremely careful. Check the terms and conditions thoroughly, question any additional charges, and make sure you understand exactly what you are being charged for before proceeding. In my opinion, the circumstances surrounding these charges need to be investigated. I would not use this company again and would strongly advise others to think twice before booking with them.

Picking car up from Krakow airport was a problem as what they don’t tell you is the min bus to pick you up does not have their name on it. That meant I had to wait 45 mins+ with a couple of phone calls to office before I was picked up. I was warned by some other people in the mini bus when they saw who we were using to avoid them as they had been hit with a £1000 charge for something they didn’t do. When I handed the car back there was a problem as the guy managed to find 2 very minor problems which I’m sure were not due to any fault of mine. There were so many scratches and scuffs of the car it would have been impossible to spot everything. They have since kept my £1464 deposit and I’m now waiting to hear back about how much they are planning to charge me for some damage which would probably cost £10 to fix. Overall a very bad experience and if I go back to Krakow again I certainly will not use this company. Everyone else beware before you book.

Unglaublich, richtige Betrüger. Wenn denen nichts anderes einfällt, sagen die einfach irgendwas um die Kaution nicht zurückzuzahlen, bei mir es zuerst 160 euro abzug weil der Tank leer war,Gottseidank hatte ich vor der Abfahrt vor Ort mit Zeugen Fotos gemacht vom Tankstand,nach Reklamation,hieß es 160 euro abzug weil ich angeblich geraucht ,hätte,ich bin 80 grad schwerbehinderu und habe pflegestufe 3 und natürlich Nichtraucher, der Wagen war nicht -gereinigt, weiß nicht ob mein Vorgänger auch bezahlen musste weil er angeblich auch geraucht hätte,wenn mann in dem Fahrzeug Spuren findet können die monate alt sein,wahrscheinlich kassieren die bei jedem,das geld dafür.Habe angeblich ein Upgrade bekommen habe ein größeres Fahrzeug bekommen aber der stand abseits von den anderen Fahrzeugen neben ebenfalls noch nicht gereinigten Fahrzeugen, mit dem bißchen sprit drin war ich gezwungen bereits auf der Autobahn zu tanken was natürlich viel teurer wurde als wenn ich zuhause nebenan tanken. Eine Versicherung-Pflicht- täglich 40 euro z.b. 40 ×7 Tage 280 Euro, 250 euro Kaution und dann kommt erst die Mietzeit. Unglaublich, ich miete sehr oft immer gleich für einen Monat,das hieße 1200 euro Versicherung die weg sind,Kaution und dann noch ca.1500 euro für die 30 tage mietzeit. Der Schalter im Düsseldorfer Flughafen ist immer fast leer aber einige machen es online und kommen da nicht mehr raus,von der täglichen 40 euro Versicherung steht da ja nichts drin. 312 Bewertungen aber keine einzige 4 oder 5 alle mut schulnoten eine 6 gegeben,Bitte lasst euch nicht verschen von denen!!! Die eigenen AGB werden ignoriert, um dem Kunden teure Zusatzversicherungen aufzuzwingen. Fahrzeugklasse wird nicht eingehalten (Kombi bestellt, kein Kombi bekommen), Fahrzeug nicht voll getankt, ich soll dann schätzen, wie voll der Tank war und nachfüllen. Kulanz ist ein Fremdwort, nicht empfehlenswert !!!

Avoid!! I was scammed at gdansk airport. They get you to book with their low prices and then make you buy the extra insurance. The guy literally refused to let us leave with the car unless we bought the extra insurance for almost the same price as the actual car hire. Literally refused to process our booking. He said they’ve got the money for the booking now and if I ring booking.com they won’t give me a refund so I either pay for the extra insurance or no car and lose my booking money. I told them I’m not paying any more than what I’ve already paid and went to another company to hire a car. Wheego are criminal.

Azienda pessima. Ho affittato un'auto con cambio manuale all'aereoporto di Danzica: mi hanno detto di avere solo auto con cambio automatico, costringendo a far guidare il mio compagno. Mi sono travata addebitata sulla carta di credito 108 euro per il conducente aggiuntivo, senza preavviso e quando il problema era loro e non mio. In più non mi hanno restituito ancora i 300 sloti di caparra. Sconsigliatissima.
