Theft
Theft. Wex Health, registered in Omaha, NE should face a class-action lawsuit. They operate as a third-party administrator for COBRA, but ultimately does not remit payment to the insurer - all the while blaming the insurance company as inadequate. Granted, WEX admitted they would hold my payment for 15 business days. This admittance occurred on a 3-way call between myself, a Kaiser member service representative, and WEX representative. However, WEX did not release the money after 15 business days. The customer service call center is probably in the Philippines. I did receive a call back from a number from Maryland (supposedly a supervisor) but she would not give me any clarification on where my enrollment papers were sent and payment to the insurance company (Kaiser). She said it was "proprietary information". At this point, I've contacted my bank to file a claim, and I have notified my previous employer of the unethical business practice. Unfortunately, I only researched WEX after the fact to see all the warnings and negative reviews. I had trusted my employer decision to use WEX, and their upfront communication was professional.
