Everyday the bus service number 74 from Birmingham city centre to West Brom or great bridge or Dudley is pathetic what is the point providing a service when your at the bus stop at snow hill when the bus driver does not stop and pick and the times on the bus keep changing or no buses for upto 30/40 mins
Why have a bus service if you cannot provide a service to time scales
This is just one route in the midlands that West Midlands travel/metro provide that is pathetic people need to get home not wait for ghost buses or ghost times we pay good money to use West Midlands travel buses so get your fingers out and do something there is no good reviews for this bus company at all and this is just one of the reasons
Get the tram guys you are much safer and you will get home quicker ditch the services which are pathetic in providing a poor service

Greedy Bus Company
An unfair £60 charge was issued to my friend on Bus 1 (West Midlands) today, October 7, 2026, at approximately 3:00 PM with a black inspector.
She was penalised because she did not have her student ID on hand to match her valid bus pass. If the driver had an issue with her pass, it should have been addressed before allowing her to board, rather than penalising her after the fact.
Furthermore, when I called customer service to resolve this, the representative, Manny/Manni, was extremely unhelpful and repeatedly spoke over me while I was trying to explain the situation.
This experience feels like an unfair money grab and reflects poorly on your company’s customer service. I expect a prompt review of this £60 charge, a formal refund, and an explanation regarding both the charge and the poor phone service.

Apparently their staff can do no wrong
Apparently their staff can do no wrong. A few weeks I tried to board a tram and some elderly people I let off before trying to get on, were walking really slowly and I ended up not getting on. The door shut in my face and I was pushing a pushchair. Tram left. The elderly people were mocking me which made me even more infuriated. I've complained to West Midlands Metro, apparently the tram driver couldn't see me trying to get on because apparently the camera was blocked. What a load of rubbish. They do not give you enough time to get on after letting people off. Apparently they going to pass it on. I doubt it very much. They are more interested in money than anything to do with passengers.

West Midlands Metro needs fixing
I have been taking the tram for a little over 3 years now to get to my place of education twice a day. Out of all that time I must say, this is one of the least reliable, and most frustrating forms of transportation. Often I walk to the tram stop, and as many others have often experienced, the trams typically never come on time. Where it shows 1 minute, it often takes over 5 minutes for the tram to actually show up. God forbid you’re even a little late showing up because magically they suddenly all work again. Coincidental or not, this happens often throughout my entire time using these tram services very frequently. Depending on whether you get a new tram or an old one, you can often find horrible smells, litter in seats, spilled drinks at the bottom of seats. These trams are never fully clean or sanitary. And, back to my earlier point, even if you’re slightly late, the tram often takes 10-15 seconds or so to let you onboard. Sounds decent enough, right? Wrong. 90% of the time, it’s as if the tram driver will do everything in their path to make sure you do not get on. Take for today as an example, Wednesday 24th June, me and 2 other people (both of which were elderly and couldn’t make it to the tram easily) had to hurriedly cross a busy road in order to catch the tram. Luckily we managed to get to the tram just as the doors were closing, we had signalled to the driver to let us on, he saw this, and drove off. The elderly two were left out in this scorching heatwave, as with myself, even though the driver could afford to wait 10 seconds to briefly open the door, and let us in. Now unless they get paid less or something moronic for being late to the next stop (even though they always are anyways) it’s honestly horrible. Not to mention the constant issues with the stops themselves. Almost every single day, at least one stop, or a few are no longer being travelled to, because of some “error” or “accident”. Now 9/10 times I can understand, having such a massive way to go is bound to cause issues. But the frequency of them is what concerns me. What good is a transportation that only half completes your journey? Why should I have to take a transportation that is extremely unreliable and may actually make some people concerned for their own safety? Because unfortunately many of us have no other quick ways to reach a destination. So we put up with this lack of good service. I apologise if I seem harsh, however this is just 3 years of disappointment and astonishment at how poor the west midlands metro really is (Just to clarify I speak for the many regulars who take the tram near daily, as many who use it for leisurely activities are mostly unaffected).

West Midlands Metro Poor customer service e Poor governance and Poor complaints procedure
I'm disabled and use my freedom pass around the UK . I'm aware Freedom pass cannot be used on all public transport but I check West Midlands Metro website and is said yes you can use it on the WM Metro ( this was 19 May 2025) when I tried to use it the conductors said I couldn't. I showed him the website and he wouldn't look. He then proceeded to block me from sitting down I use a walking aid . My carer paid the fare. The next stop a man approx 30 not visibly disabled said he had lost his ticket. The conductor used his discretion and permitted him to travel without a ticket I'm aged 65 visibly disabled and he blocked me with his body and prevented me from sitting down.
Subsquently I put in a complaint and the website was corrected to show you couldn't use a Freedom pass.
They admitted the website had incorrect info. So yes the conductor was correct but why did he block me from sitting down and why did he allow a non physical disable person to travel without any issue.?
He wouldn't look at the information I was relying on . West Midlands Metro Corporate complaint took 7 months to give a final response - For them to say the conductor was correct in blocking from me taking a seat. Extremely poor customer service and poor and discriminatory corporate governance and poor communication on a website that passengers rely on for accurate information

Extremely poor and unacceptable tram…
Extremely poor and unacceptable tram service. There are delays almost every day, stops are frequently changed without proper notice, and passengers are left waiting more than 30 minutes with no clear information. There is no fixed timetable, no proper communication, and the service is completely unreliable. This level of management is very disappointing and causes serious inconvenience to daily commuters. Immediate improvement is needed.

Have your legitimate ticket ready.
We both showed our valid daytripper tickets at Edgbaston Village - at the very start of the tram's journey. The conductor was pleasant at that point and not only saw the tickets but also had a brief conversation with us. So, that was fine.
Therefore, it is somewhat odd that about half an hour later the same conductor asks to see my ticket again (as if not seen before), has no recall of our conversation at Edgbaston Village and dislikes me showing the ticket again - despite having asked to see it again.
That did not make sense. It then became intimidating because the conductor would not leave it, going on and on about themselves. The valid ticket was shown and accepted twice. So, I wonder why the hassle...
Actual faredodgers need to be dealt with - not creating stress for legitimate travellers.
