Terrible company. You sign up, verify your bank account, accept your first payment, the payment posts as pending, AND THEN THEY CANCEL THE CHARGE! This happened to me. I got an email three days after using the online terminal saying that they could not verify my account and my customer was refunded. No notice, direct communication, nothing. They just refunded my customer's card! DO NOT sign up!

These guys are a total scam. Not only did they charge me 5.9% and not 2.9% as they advertise, they also held onto my money for 2 weeks before wiring it. Shady, shady, shady. Stay away from them.

Quite possibly the worst service, lack of follow thru I've ever experienced.

I refunded some people because the money they send was no longer needed. One guy got refunded 2 times so they took the extra $100 out of my bank account. Some people say they can give it to me and fix it others say it's part of their policy. I have been fighting with them since February to get my money back. I still keep getting the run around.

Found wepay and created a account as an alternative for paypal. On the third transaction they email me to let me know my account is going to be deactivated. I called customer service and they told me the reason is the services I was providing are not allowed. They have a loooooong list of services you can't use wepay for. I help my clients research and find the best deals online or local stores to save money. I help them get rebates and find other discounts. I asked where in the Terms explains about this and they referred me to a line that says "Discount clubs or membership clubs are not allowed". They said my services fall under that category. I asked if I can sell and bill used electronics and they said no. That falls under "Counterfeit or possibly counterfeit goods, such as designer handbags, clothing and accessories, and consumer electronics". I said, what I sell is not counterfeit and they reply by saying "it says electronics there". The problem is that it seems they are looking for reasons to close accounts and hold the funds and maybe not paying the funds. Who knows why they do that but it is very inconvenient they way they close the accounts and hold the funds. Not recommended, stay away!

I was fooled in believing that wepay was a great alternative, but I am now seeing the light...STAY AWAY FROM WEPAY

Our complaint with this company is twofold. First, because w had concerns that our business was acceptable we contacted them ahead of time to make sure what we did was acceptable. Our company is Be Your Own Lawyer. We provide legal research and support for people that want to represent themselves pro se and from a review of the WEPAY TOS realized that legal fees were not acceptable. We were assured that since we did not provide actual legal representation, our business model was acceptable.We opened an account, provided all requested documentation, and were asked to contact an account executive (Todd) by phone. We tried for three days to reach Todd at the number he provided and got only his voice mail. We contacted customer serve once again and were assured that all was in order. W began invoicing our clients. The second problem is their failure to let us know of any problem. After about a week we realized that the payments being received were ALL still showing as "pending". When we contacted customer service again, they finally (after three weeks) informed us that because the nature of our business was prone to a high chargeback rate, that WEPAY would not be able to process payments, and that pending payments would be reversed. Wepay has the right, ad does any business to determine what business they will accept. But they also have the obligation to give some notice when they have made a determination that they choose not to do business. They made no effort - just let the payments sit in limbo until we questioned it. We certainly would not have invoiced our clientele had they let us know. When we complained, we received the typical "we're sorry for any inconvenience" line, but no meaningful effort of any kind:to remedy their incompetence. Anyone that believes that this company is a viable alternative to paypal is in for a rude awakening. We would recommend that anyone considering Wepay look elsewhere!

They don't disclose up front that they are going to hold $500 of your money for 7 extra days and then they took a week to pay me for the amount they didn't hold. I went to them because I was looking for an alternative to Square, but after 3 transactions I am going back to Square. At least Square's payment schedule was timely and as advertised.
