I really regret using WellCare
I really regret using WellCare - they terminated my plan! without sending me an email, letter or phone call that directly said they were not receiving my payments, which I thought were on autopay. Their agent said I was put on a list to get a robo-call, but that would not have cleared the spam filters on my iPhone. To my understanding, WellCare's contract with Medicare and the 2026 Evidence of Coverage expressly says it must provide written notice and three calendar months to pay before terminating coverage. It also requires written reasons and grievance instructions after termination. Medicare (CMS)’s model notices require unmistakable language stating that payment is overdue, the amount and deadline, and that disenrollment will result. WellCare did none of these. WellCare is a low-budget option, but it's customer service is lacking, leading to really expensive problems like the one I am experiencing.
