Disappointing Experience: Quote Reduced by over 55%
I had a very disappointing experience with WebTrade. I was originally quoted $347 for my iPhone 17, but after they received and inspected the device, they reduced their offer to just $155. That's a $192 reduction, or more than 55% of the original quote. The phone did have a bent frame, but the rest of the device was in good condition. While I understand that physical damage can affect resale value, such a significant reduction was extremely disappointing. I ultimately accepted the revised offer because I wanted to move on rather than deal with the hassle of having the phone returned. My advice to anyone considering WebTrade is to be cautious about the initial quotes. The amount you're offered online may be substantially different from what you actually receive after inspection. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend WebTrade and will not be using their services again. Update (October 21, 2026): Following my review, WebTrade contacted me privately and offered additional compensation to resolve my complaint. After several email exchanges, a representative confirmed that management had approved an additional $100 payment, bringing the proposed total compensation to $251. However, the company insisted that I remove my negative Trustpilot review before they would issue the additional payment. I explained that I was willing to remove the review once the agreed-upon funds had actually been received, but I was not comfortable deleting it beforehand. WebTrade declined to proceed under those terms and ultimately informed me that I could leave my review as it was. I appreciate that the company initially attempted to reach a compromise, but I remain disappointed that we could not finalize the resolution over the order in which the payment and review removal would occur. No additional $100 payment was made. I am leaving this review published as an accurate account of my experience, including the company’s subsequent efforts to resolve the complaint.
Response from Web Trade-In LLCOct 21, 2026
Hi David, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Our initial quote was based on the device's condition as described when the order was submitted. During our inspection, we found that the phone had a bent frame, which is considered significant physical damage because it may also affect internal components and resale value. This is why we revised the offer. We understand that the price reduction was substantial and disappointing. As an alternative to accepting the revised offer, we offered to return your phone free of charge and provide an additional $30 as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused. You ultimately chose to proceed with the revised offer of $155. Following your feedback, we continued communicating privately to explore a further resolution. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach an agreement regarding the additional compensation, and no further payment was made. We believe customer feedback is valuable because it helps future customers better understand our inspection process and grading requirements before mailing in their devices. After further discussion, we were unable to reach an agreement on the proposed additional payment in connection with removing the review, and we ultimately decided not to proceed with that arrangement. We respect your decision to keep your review published and believe it is important for customers to have a clear understanding of our grading requirements before sending us their devices. Our intention is never to mislead customers with our initial quotes. When a device's actual condition differs from the expected condition, we communicate the revised offer so customers can decide whether to accept it or have their device returned. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to make our grading standards and inspection process as clear as possible. Best regards, Web Trade-In Support Team
