This platform has been tremendously important to me. First as a high school kid just trying to understand the industry, and now, ~5yrs into my career it is still insightful. I'm transitioning to the point where I provide answers, rather than ask the questions, as a way to give back to the community. The only improvements would be around tech. The website has a number of bugs, especially with commenting. I also am not the biggest fan of anonymous posting (I understand the merits, but there are some major drawbacks).

I frequented WSO very regularly as an undergraduate and early on in my career. It proved invaluable as a resource and had a real, significant impact on the path I pursued. I got feedback from members on my resume, advice on choosing internships, advice on choosing my very first full-time job after undergrad, and even advice on grad school. Really thankful for the WSO community!

Site is filled with anonymous users spreading racist / messed up comments, and overall inappropriate content. It’s extremely tough to find relevant information at this point because the forums are filled with anon users posting political / social discussions as a way to get trending posts. Long-time user and have not liked the direction WSO has gone. I think the use of anon posts just really messed up the overall interaction as a professional discussion board.

While recruiting for banking in undergrad, and also while switching jobs for buyside, WSO has been tremendously helpful. I think I naturally grew out of WSO because I felt that the majority of users were college students or analysts with 0-2 yrs of experience. Also, I now have enough network to leverage if I need to learn more about another firm. Nonetheless, I would recommend other job seekers to use WSO.

I wish I had discovered WSO when I was a graduate. It is priceless

Helpful when I was an analyst 12-14 years ago. I stuck around once I transitioned to venture capital to help younger folks. Then the community became irrelevant as I headed to business school and beyond.

Great forum where finance professionals congregate. I've gotten great advice and participated in lots of discussions throughout more than a decade that I've been on there.
