Wall Street OasisReviews of wallstreetoasis.com

Great site for advice, support, and questions. The community created ensures there is more than sufficient coverage to cover a variety of areas related to finance and its adjacent paths. The community is also both knowledgeable and humorous, helping to ensure questions get answered and advice is conveyed with enough levity. Highly recommend one gets involved with WSO!

Great website, initially was a resource for career advice/direction and helped me quite a bit. I'm now at the point where I no longer need WSO (for the most part) for guidance w/respect to my career, but I've remained a near-daily reader and still mix it up in the comments a bit. Overall WSO is a great resource and discussion forum which has staying power and is superior to similar alternatives (like a few subreddits or forums that focus on certain professional degrees).

The thing I appreciate about WSO is the level of transparency on the forums. Yes, there is a fair amount of "flexing" amongst users who try to showcase how hardcore they are, but on balance, the vast majority of users come to the table with good intentions and a willingness to help. A forum where many of the users know (or really, recognize) one another can provide a level of insight beyond a simple review-only website (e.g. Glassdoor), and that's what I believe WSO to be.

Thanks to WSO, I have been able to grow and do things I didn’t know I was capable of. I’ve been able to master my networking and interviewing skills and have been able to also 2 private equity and 1 IB internships coming from a non-target. Looking forward to giving back to this community.

Update: Jan 10, 2022 I have been using the website for over three years now. And the sheer breadth of topics and insider scoops continues to astonish me. I had recently tried out Fishbowl but most young students are not allowed to post there. On WSO, no matter how naive your query sounds, you will find a relevant response. I still keep hearing about the prep courses. The newsletter has made it one of my go-to mediums alongside other financial dailies to stay abreast with what's happening in North America. Kudos to Team WSO and Patrick Curtis. Old Review: Probably one of the best resources to get vetted information on breaking into IB/PE and other associated questions about career. Could have been better if it some people from the target audience focused on non-IB careers as well. You will find the usual folks just dissing out random topics. But the sheer breadth and width of first-hand knowledge some users are ready to disseminate for free - is marvellous. I have not tried the mentoring, courses, funds, or any of the paid resources - but all these years, WSO has been a staple in my reading diet.

WSO provides an excellent view into a variety of careers paths within finance and related industries. Being able to interact with individuals with such a wide range of backgrounds gives much more insight into day-to-day work and what it takes to get there than you can find anywhere else.

This site has been incredibly helpful throughout my career over the last 6 years. I started my career in a completely different industry and while considering making the move to CRE, needed resources to help me learn the industry, including the various sectors and career paths that may be available. This site has without a doubt been my #1 resource outside of my own network. I read the forums this site provides daily during that time and still do to this day. I highly recommend it to anyone who is considering a career in finance or is currently in the industry and wants to stay on top of things. It has been instrumental not only in making the change but also for continuing education, learning about unfamiliar markets, and networking with like minded professionals as well. 10/10. Keep it up Patrick & team

Such an amazing resource for college students looking to break into finance.
