Had 2 tours booked with four people. We arrived 5 minutes late to the Coliseum tour they wuold not help us or accomadate us on the next tour. Very rude to us on top of thatwould not refund us at 100$ a head. Be careful not a trustworthy company Had to pay another company 80 euros and they accomedated us without a problem.

We rushed through traffic in a scooter to meeting point for Walk tours night Vatican. Arrive just in time. but tour guide left. We ran up 40 steps cross st to Vatican entry . Went through security tryed to find an English speaking guide. When we did she was rude to us . said her tour was full.find another. we ask if she can call other guides she was No Help. We had to spend another 36E for tickets to get into Vatican. We followed map through galleries. mid way we heard another English speaking guide who only had a small group of 10. I ask her if she was missing us she said yes. Gave us 1 mic to hear her. She was very nice but I had to listen closely as I did not have a mic. Advice night tour less crowded but arrive very early because the giide leaves early. Walk tours would not refund the extra ticket cost .

We did the Colosseum underground tour. Great guide, and worth the price. My only request is that the guides allow some time periodically, even 10 minutes every now and then so that people can truly absorb the atmosphere and the experience

This company ruined our holiday!!! I booked a tour in Venice three months prior for a walks of Italy tour. We planned our hotel stay and itinerary around the tour. On our very last night we had an after hours guided tour scheduled. We arrived at the meeting spot 10 minutes prior and were told ‘sorry we don’t have enough tickets for you, we have been over booked’. I was in tears. I tried to explain to the guide that we leave Venice tomorrow and it was our last night and last opportunity to see the Doges Palace and St Marks Basilica. We relied on this tour. I booked it months in advance and paid upfront. No one communicated this to us prior or we would’ve happily found another tour to attend. All she could say was ‘sorry I can’t help you call head office it’s not my fault’ with a blank expression on her face as if my presence was inconveniencing her. I called head office TWICE. Initially was told ‘Don’t worry we’ll sort it out, once we investigate. It’s been escalated, It shouldn’t have happened. We will call you back ASAP, it’s marked as urgent’ …2 hours passed. I called again to be told ‘sorry the last staff member didn’t call you back, this shouldn’t have happened let me see what we can do’. Was put on hold for 15 minutes to be told ‘sorry there is actually nothing we can do for you and there are no other tours we can offer you’. No sympathy, no apology, no sincerity whatsoever. I was told a manager would call me within 30 minutes. To my utter disgust this company didn’t even have the audacity to do that. It has now been 4 hours and it’s 10:30pm at night with another false promise. Do not book with WALKS OF ITALY. They will ruin your holiday last minute and have no care of empathy is doing so. A holiday you’ve saved your whole life for. For us it’s too late and we will miss out on visiting the most famous landmarks of Venice however I genuinely hope that this helps someone else and saves your holiday/vacation from the disappointment and stress they’ve caused us with no accountability. Don’t trust the good reviews you see on WALKS OF ITALY or any associated companies.

We booked this catacombs tour for May 28th a few weeks before our Rome trip. Unbeknownst to us, May 28th was the day of the Giro d’Italia (a huge bike race) in Rome and there were road closures throughout Rome. This was a known event and the tour company should have communicated with us prior to our tour as to any options, i.e. rescheduling or itinerary change. They did not. We met our tour guide and after introductions, she proceeded to nonchalantly inform us that due to the bike race, we would not be able to visit the catacombs or the aqueduct outside the city and she would substitute the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain and a small aqueduct ruin within walking distance as replacements. She also said the tour company would issue a partial refund. This was not acceptable to us as we had already visited these sites the prior day and had no interest in doing so again. She gave us some tour company phone numbers to contact them but there was no answer. She said they were U.S. numbers and they were still sleeping. We decided to stay with the group for the small aqueduct ruin 5 min away and then left the group while they did the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. We rejoined the group at the bone chapel and afterwards the tour ended. I texted and messaged Walks tour company through TripAdvisor several times that day and the following days – no response. I called them twice upon our return to the U.S. and the representatives said they would “escalate my request” and I would hear within 24 hours – 4 days later still no response. Not once has the tour company reached out to me regarding my request for the partial refund that was stated by the tour guide. While this tour may be enjoyable if there are no issues, be advised that this tour company will NOT communicate with you about any itinerary changes before your tour date. UPDATE: Two weeks after I returned, I finally received a ½ refund after filing for a partial refund on the TripAdvisor website.

Uncooperative and inhuman tour operator. we booked a tour for 27MAY for Amalfi coast and pompeii from rome for a couple. Unfortunately one person met with an accident a day before tour at rome where got leg fractured so unable to walk at all and it was well informed to Walks of italy customer service team on 26MAY morning. They asked us to send the refund application alongwith hospital document proof thru our booking channel which was sent on 26MAY itself as treatment was done by Govt Hospital rome. However after a week, we got to know that they denied the special claim refund. This tour operator is only about money even if there is a case of accident emergency. Worldwide all good tour operators allow a refund in such special cases. But only an inhuman & only low grade materialistic approach operators behave in such manner. Also to our observance their tour rates are much higher than other operators for same tour. This company shud be avoided for all tours offered by them.

Booked tour over a month in advance. After finding the complicated meeting point we were told that they did not have our reservation and that it must have been moved. The voucher we received from Viator had a link for the tickets that said we would receive the tickets at the meeting point from guide. Once told our tour must have been moved, I pressed a link to contact tour guide ..here I found a message they had sent me (not an email but in a random “chat”, that they had to move my tour to 5 hours earlier. This was sent 6 days prior..I booked and paid 36 days prior..Still waiting to hear about a refund but worry, after reading other reviews, that we won’t get it. I have all the emails of booking confirmations..

We booked our tour over a month in advance and paid. Walks cancelled 36 hours before with no explanation and rescheduled us for a day we are not even in Rome 3 days later. I immediately replied to their message both text and email. No response whatsoever. Never responded. Very disappointing as it is impossible to book Colosseum tickets with 1 day notice. We are a group of 5 and this was one of main reasons for our trip to Rome. Bad customer service and no communication. Do not use! Also, still waiting on our refund but not optimistic.
