I used Walgreens years ago then switched when I got a new part D policy. This year I went back because Walgreens is the preferred pharmacy. Over the last few years they have gone downhill on customer service. MY son and daughter in law have been waiting for meds they need for a couple of weeks. How is this providing good health care. If a pharmacy can't keep prescriptions that are common then why are they even in business....

Walgreens Lie
Following both of my hips being replaced ,and major back surgery which left me with a metal plate in my back ,and constant pain, I was prescribed Hydromorphone 4 mg tablets by my pain management doctor, and they have made it possible for me to function to a somewhat acceptable level of mobility . Up until six months ago I would visit my pain doctor once per month ,and he would call in my prescription to Walgreens ,and I would collect said prescription without any issues . For the past six months Walgreens inform me that my prescription is delayed ,and no other information is ever given ,which means I have to contact my doctor ,who then sends the same prescription to a very small local pharmacy who fills my prescription without issue . Walgreens for some unknown reason are lying to myself ,and other customers regarding opioid prescriptions ,and their policies . There are many people like myself who genuinely need medications just to function,

I was prescribed a cough syrup with…
I was prescribed a cough syrup with CODEINE on Wednesday. The pharmacy refused to fill it but didn't inform me or my doctor that they won't be filling the prescription because they have a policy against it so I spent two days waiting with a cough so violent it was damaging my
inner ear and throat. On Saturday I called the pharmacy to check on it that's when I was informed that they wouldn't be filling the prescription per
Store policy. They also refused to forward the prescription to a pharmacy that would fill it.
Effectively interfering in my medical care. I respect their right not to sale controled substances and if that was all they did I would have no issue with it
However I know that their automated system can and will let me know about problems with my prescriptions and they didn't was a deliberate action to impose their views on the issue on my care.
It's not their right or job to interfere in treating my illness and if they were truly concerned they could have reached out to discuss alternatives
As it stands because it was after hours on a holiday weekend I have suffered with a violent cough unresponsive to over the counter cough syrup waiting for my doctor to receive my messages and reissue the prescription to another pharmacy that will stay in there lane.

Walgreens East Main Rock Hill Pharmacy - hot garbage
I've had chronic insomnia for 15+ years. There's only one controlled substance, out of all the sleep meds I've tried, that works. Last year, because my local store didn't have it, they sent my RX to a store across my city and because it's a controlled substance, I had to go there for the entire 6 months to fill the prescription. Wasting my gas and time. Last month, they switched manufacturers with no notice- but the meds at least worked. Now they switched to a different manufacturer, and it doesn't work- AT ALL. I took the bottles up there (Rock Hill, SC) -- showed them the manufacturer that DOES work versus one that DOESN'T WORK AT ALL (had each pill and each bottle- the new pills don't even look like the others- shape, size, color) and they were like oh, we don't have enough of last month's manufacturer to even replace what you have- you have to call your doctor's office. So, I sat on hold with doc office (on my lunch break) for them to tell me the nurse isn't available to talk to me and I couldn't wait so I had to leave. I HAVEN'T SLEPT IN 2 NIGHTS BECAUSE OF THIS. I am losing it!!!!! DO BETTER! NOTIFY CUSTOMERS WHEN MANUFACTURERS SWITCH!!!! STOP WITH THIS LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM! If this was a mechanic, they'd have to call ya and tell ya they no longer have XYZ brand and what would you like to do... ya know? People who depend on meds for whatever reason get some knockoff BS replacement with no notice and then have major issues because of it? Unacceptable. Guess I'm going back to CVS!

Third ship to home order in a row where most items were out of stock and not shipped. At least they did not charge for shipping, since that made it below the minimum. Ship to home is just a gamble with them.

Purchased junk
Purchased an electric heating pad at the store on West 5th Ave Columbus,Ohio. It was about 3 weeks ago. About $34.00. It quit after about 3 weeks. No longer have receipt or original box to return. Threw it in trash. Next replacement purchase won't be Wallgreens

Worst customer service experience ever
Worst customer service experience ever. Released from the hospital and needed prescriptions filled, had to wait over 3 hours. Rude and uncaring staff. Horrible experience.

Misinformed about Medicare coverage
Misinformed about Medicare coverage. On. May 16 ~ 10 Am. My wife (71 yrs) requested an Rx for vaccination, we were mis informed that neither Medicare or our backup ins. Would cover the Rx. As a result we paid out of pocket $104. In cking with Medicare this Rx is covered. Since Walgreen is unable to refund, we will have to submit a legitimate claim via Medicare. & Seek another provider for the 2nd & 3rd followup vaccinations. This is an unfair action on the part of Walgreens to a senior citizen, located across from Norcross mal on Anderson lane in Austin Texas. We are writing this complaint to advise other Seniors of this unfair treatment.
