Refilling a prescription. Got a bag with correct information on the attached receipt; incorrect name and medication name on the box inside; correct medication inside the box.???
Long lines and then you get a pharmacy student who doesn't communicate clearly and doesn't understand the problem.

Does walgreens think their customers are stupid?
Does walgreens think their customers don't realize that it's more convenient to buy items online and enjoy hassle-free returns? Does walgreens think their customers are not going to notice all the stores closing in the next 3 years ?
I was hassled for my drivers license credentials when making a return of a $25 purchase at Store #13456 1303 WEHRLI RD Naperville, IL 60565.
With 25% stores closing in the next 3 years according to a goodhousekeeping article I read you'd think Walgreens would have more important things to worry about than shoppers who return items with a valid receipt (paid with credit card).
I didn't see any disclosures in the store so I believe their policy to hold your privacy hostage in exchange for what you're already entitled to seems a bit unethical (to say the least).

Bogus $25 Apple Gift Card Activated
I purchased a $25 Apple Gift Card at local a Walgreens today at 10:09AM, located on 4021 Cross Timbers Rd., Flower Mound TX. The male cashier activated a card he retrieved from behind the counter. When I returned home, like always, I tried to use the activated card on a game App on my phone. An odd message popped up: "No info available for in-app purchase. Try again later, code 21104."
I contacted Apple & spoke with Tech Austin who tried unsuccessfully to resolve the problem to no avail! I then decided to purchase a few songs from the Apple Music App, using the activated card but noticed less money was in my account despite just uploading $25. This card had already been compromised!
I purchased two more songs & again noticed more money was being skimmed off the card I just purchased. Before the crooks could completely deplete all my funds/account, I purchased several more songs and left .38 cents credit. Unlike other stores, the Walgreen Clerk NOT the customer, selects the Apple Card for activation. Not sure if the cashier was/is involved in this scam .... but Hummm??? This has never happened to me. Hence, DO NOT purchase Apple Gift Cards at Walgreens!!!!!

Systemic problem
Systemic problem
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the ongoing issues I have experienced with Walgreens pharmacy services. After reading numerous reviews on Trustpilot and Yelp, I have come to realize that the problems I’ve faced are not isolated, but part of a broader pattern of systemic issues, affecting customers nationwide. According to these reviews, 83% of the comments are one-star ratings, which suggests that the root cause of these problems is a corporate-level failure.
My family’s prescriptions were transferred to Walgreens after our local Rite Aid closed, and since then, I have encountered multiple issues with every single prescription refill. Below is a detailed list of the problems I’ve faced:
1. Auto-refill System: Despite verifying my birthdate directly with the store, the auto-refill system consistently fails to recognize it, causing delays and confusion in the refill process.
2. Prescription Refills: As my physicians are part of an e-prescribing office, the pharmacy should be able to request refills and receive the necessary information from their office. However, I had to wait several days for my medication. When I followed up with Walgreens, I was told that my physician’s office hadn’t responded to their request and that I needed to contact them directly. Upon calling my physician’s office, I was informed that they had just sent the fax—after several days of waiting. This experience left me without medication for over a week and highlighted a clear breakdown in communication between Walgreens and the physician’s office.
3. Mobile App Issues: I was advised by a Walgreens employee to download the Walgreens app to manage my prescription refills. However, the app is nearly useless for this purpose. The barcode scanner fails to read my prescription refills, and it doesn’t seem to link to the pharmacy system correctly. Even when I attempted to order refills via the app, after several days, the pharmacy had not received the request.
4. Incorrect Billing: On one occasion, I was charged over $500 for a prescription I’ve been taking for years. When I questioned the charge, Walgreens admitted they had not processed the prescription through my insurance. After they corrected the issue, my portion was reduced to $53, which highlights a serious issue with billing accuracy and customer transparency.
5. Promised Auto-Refill Service: Over two months ago, I was contacted by Walgreens and offered an auto-refill service that would automatically renew my prescriptions on the 1st of the month. This sounded like a wonderful service to avoid the ongoing struggles I’ve experienced in getting my refills. However, since then, none of my prescriptions have been refilled without requiring me to jump through hoops, which completely negates the purpose of the auto-refill service.
I believe these ongoing issues point to a deeper problem within the corporate structure of Walgreens. As a new customer, I am incredibly frustrated by the lack of reliable service and the constant inconvenience these issues have caused.

Local Walgreen employees snd management…
Local Walgreen employees snd management are thr most inept people. Doc prescribed three flu meds and I did some shopping online for pickup. I ordered cough drops, Lysol, and Kleenex paid with my bank account and listed for pickup. Since I was under the weather I send someone to pickup my order once I recieved email order was ready. My friend came back with only the meds he paid for. I had already paid mo Lysol no nothing. I called the store and my call was transferred back and forth like a hot potatoe from photo lab where you pick up orders and pharmacy. I asked to speak with manager held waiting for 24 min then line went dead. I called 1-800 # to ask the to cancel the whole order. Another 10 min wait and was told it had already been cancelled. Good Lord lousey customer service. Minus 1 rating.

I had the misfortune of asking The Chestertown, NY Walgreens to order a drug for me
I had the misfortune of asking The Chestertown, NY Walgreens to order a drug for me that they did not have in Inventory. They said it would be available the next day. I asked them if they would be sure that it will be available as I was leaving to travel soon. They said would be. The next day I got a text saying is would not be available for an undeterminable amount of time. When I called, annoyed that I was misled, they told be its not their fault as they just do what the computer says. They offered me no further help and said it was not their problem. I told them that they should take more responsibility for their customers and be truthful about waiting times in an “Intense exchange” I had to take two hours to find another pharmacy. They actually called my doctor’s office to complain, which was embarrassing. I would not go to this Walgreens. They have to realize that they are a customer service organization. This is a good example of why the drugstore business is becoming a mail order business and these companies are downsizing.

Taking my business elsewhere
I have been miserable for a few days and this morning opted to take an OTC Covid test. Came back positive. I'm traveling to Mexico on Weds and decided to schedule an in-person test at my Chaska Walgreens. Got there and was informed that they did not do testing and it was an error in the system that should have been resolved. The pharmacist did apologize, and suggested that Chanhassen might have testing. When I asked if she thought they did do testing, she stated, "As I've said, you'll need to call the Chanhassen location." Now anyone with knowledge of customer service knows that you never start a statement with, "As I've said..." It's just plain rude. When I suggested that they should be calling Chanhassen for me since it's Walgreen's error, she clearly was flustered and stated that she would, but she was busy with 3 people. NOT MY PROBLEM! What part of I'm sick and it took everything in my power to get here, don't you understand? Where's the empathy? Got back into my car and called Walgreens Chanhassen. The robot answered, which is super frustrating in itself, and actually hung up on me when I asked for customer service. Called back and eventually spoke with the pharmacist. Not a good listener, but nice enough. Essentially, we as a society no longer care that people have Covid or perhaps any communicable disease. She stated that their tests were covid/flu combo and were basically the same as OTC. Suggested doing the OTC until it came back negative. Turns out Mexico doesn't give a rat's patootie either. I can travel Covid positive and all is bien. Same for the cruise lines. This frustrates and angers me! My husband is a kidney transplant recipient and therefore immune compromised. If we travel, we have to pray that those with communicable diseases are staying home or taking some precautions. It's absolutely shameful!
