Oh, what a customer must endure!!!
Looking at reviews, this store got 84% ONE star. Personally I give the recorded messages no stars at all. For four days in a row the messages were stuck on "sorry for delay...there is one caller ahead of you." One of the days was Xmas Day, when the store was closed! Finally today I talked to the pharmacy...by calling the national contact line, and a charming lady connected me to my Walgreens pharmacy here in Indianapolis and monitored the call herself (store at 10th & Arlington, where panhandlers roam). Then a local friendly staff member said my Rx would be ready in five minutes--and it was!!! (Since I am sick, I sent a family member to pick it up--I sneezed twice and he was home with my pills!) The problem? Lack of staff, the pharmacist "left" (ran away?), staff were doing their best to fill prescriptions, and yes, the recordings could be better. This store is attractive outside (new, modern, nicely landscaped; in fairness, the panhandlers are not the fault of Walgreens and a guard is on duty to chase them away); clean and neat inside, has great merchandise, and LOVELY employees. But having to wait HOURS or DAYS for a script to be filled is NOT acceptable. Walgreens is fabulous for buying online/shipping to home. I've ordered online loads of times--my order arrives in a day or two, always perfectly packed. The employees, merchandise, physical store, online shopping all get five stars. The recorded messages are liars--misleading, unhelpful, skimpy--but cheerful! Sorry, the RECORDINGS GET NO STARS. But the employees are wonderful--FIVE STARS TO EMPLOYEES AND OTHER ASSETS NOTED ABOVE. A kick in the pants to the panhandlers and whoever puts those recorded messages together.
