Disappearing Money Vystar Bank sent money to close out one of our accounts in January and, admittedly, sent it to the wrong address. The check, as verified by Vystar in July, has not been cashed and was not returned. The money is not in my account either but is clearly being held by the bank. Vystar representatives said I had to wait 90 days and sign a form. I am not a lawyer, but by all accounts, the form made me liable no matter what happens. I am a decades long member with several substantial accounts and a perfect track record. Don’t trust these people with your money.

I know everyone says that if they can rate this institution lower than a 1 they would do it in a heart beat. Based on my experiences, I am surprised they start with a 1. Also, VyStar is the only credit union that do not send surveys out to their members. That is obvious why…..here on trust pilot they are rated under a 2! That is not good at all. I have been a member of VyStar Credit Union for more than 20 years. During that time, I have never missed a payment, never defaulted on a loan, and have successfully paid off multiple auto loans and other accounts through VyStar. I have always considered myself a loyal and responsible member. Recently, I applied for a credit card with VyStar, which would have been my second credit card through the credit union. I was informed that VyStar's policy only allows members to have one credit card account. While I was initially disappointed, I completely understood and respected their policy. A representative contacted me and provided two options: 1. Increase the credit limit on my existing VyStar credit card, or 2. Proceed with the new credit card application and close my current card. The reason I was seeking additional credit was simple: I wanted to transfer and eliminate a higher-interest credit card from another financial institution. After considering my options, I told VyStar I would prefer to simply increase the credit limit on my existing card. Less than 30 seconds after making that decision, I was informed that my request had been declined. After more than two decades of loyalty, an impeccable payment history, and years of trusting VyStar with my business, this was extremely disappointing. It felt as though my relationship with the credit union and my proven track record meant very little. As a result, I have begun transferring my accounts to another credit union that appears to value long-term member relationships and customer loyalty. Once the transition is complete, I will no longer be doing business with VyStar. Before choosing VyStar, I encourage prospective members to read the reviews posted over the past few years. Many of the negative experiences come from long-standing members like myself who have supported this institution for years. Unfortunately, the VyStar I joined over 20 years ago is not the same organization it is today. My gut feeling was telling me not to apply. However, I could not think of any reason why I shouldn’t considering my history. I totally regret not listening to my gut feeling. VyStar obviously don’t build relationships with their members. Very disappointed. People please do yourself justice and read all the negative reviews! It gets worse every month based upon n the posted dates of these reviews!

Vystar credit union Wabash ave. Jax. My name is Susan. I banked here ever since it was the only branch in Jacksonville over 25 YEARS. Since the renovtion, remodeling and service changes, it has become Sterile and Unwelcoming. I have slowly been moving my monies and business to another credit union. I could not put a correct date in this review as my review covers since renovation...........

The paper statement fee was one dollar, no problem, then without notice it was two dollars, still not a problem. What a bunch of weasels. I’ll probably go paperless then start using my Fidelity VISA instead. I don’t carry a balance. It’s funny because the credit union mails me dumb newsletters that they waste money on yet care me a fee for a paper statement I’ll gradually migrate my account to Fidelity

I have been a member for over 20 years as well as employed with the same employer. I have never awakened to my check not in my account on the pay date. I have to wait until 1pm today! Unacceptable! And I want the $29 Courtesy Pay, caused by VYSYTAR refunded.

I had a mortgage with Vystar, and then refinanced with them as well. What went wrong? What didn’t. First the good, my mortgage officer team were excellent, in particular Ryan. The rate was also below average. Now the bad…let’s see, to refinance I was initially told that I would have to have a certified check…the day before Christmas. When all banks close early. I kid you not. Turns out not to have been true, but I lost a year of my life trying to resolve it. Then, Vystar continued to withdraw money from my bank account for the new AND old mortgages. That’s right, they did not stop when they refinanced my mortgage. I eventually caught on after 3-4 months, when they had 40k of my money. Then..and I kid you not, after much hassle they told me that they had sent 2/3 of my money in a check…to a house in Delaware I had not lived in for almost 2 years. Keep in mind that THEY WROTE THE MORTGAGE AND REFINANCED THE HOUSE I ACTUALLY LIVE IN. But wait! I’m not done, they then told me they would not be able to reissue that check for 90 days. That’s right. They could not cancel it and send it correctly. But I’m not done! No. When I called and asked for a supervisor…I was told..wait for it..it takes 3 TO 5 BUSINESS DAYS FOR SOMEONE TO RETURN YOUR CALL! Am I kidding? I wish I were. Basically , please avoid this bank at all costs. Looks good on paper, but whether it’s nefarious or just incompetence it is obvious that they are not capable of performing even the basic duties of a bank. Buyer beware.
