DO NOT GO!
Dr. Yi Yan Hong (Johnstown, Pa) In two weeks my wife and I have been there 3 times in person and my wife in the phone with him twice and in total of almost 15+ hours. He is very condescending and doesn’t like it when you ask questions. He absolutely loves the sound of his own voice and MUST show off his “articles”. This is my wife’s third in person visit and we still don’t know if he going to help her. Every other doctor we have seen in the past, he holds us accountable for their mistakes or clerical issues. We have gone over three times…three….all her medications and medical history. And when we accidentally forgot something from literally 17years ago…we get scolded like a two year old. On one visit I asked we are here again? Calmly I might add and I was told I wasn’t needed here. My wife asked for me to be present and I still got told I’m not needed like a two year old. He has a very HUGE god complex and dislikes it when patients saying anything other than you agreeing with him. I’m not even getting started on how he treats his assistant. He called her in from another room just to move a pen in a piece of paper he needed that was sitting right in front of him. Not giving away what I do for a living but I study and read peoples behavior as part of my job and I can tell you right now he looks down on women like they’re property and there to serve him. The first three two visits I attended with my wife I got “I respect you. I like you, you good husband.” Today I asked why we are here, and I got told to come back I’m not needed today. When we first arrived…not a hi how are you? Nope….we get a …you going to pay your copay? lol in our first visit, he got real upset and his face read disgust when he asked us if we ever heard of him and we both said no! Buddy you’re not that big a deal. His demeanor is that if he is the greatest thing to mankind since sliced bread. When during our first two visits…he would ask us to read over some material pertaining to previous care and in the middle of it he would take the paper away and grill us about a page that we didn’t even flip to yet. All three visits plus two phone visits have been nothing but us giving medical history and previous medications and then getting really upset when we don’t recall something from years ago. Mind you, he has alll that information already. It’s almost like he is trying to catch you in a lie. One visit I told him we have to leave by 1230 so I can take my wife home so I have to get to work I have to normally leave my house by 1pm so I’m not late….we didn’t leave his office until 1pm and I live 15 minutes from his office. Guess who walked into work just in time? Yeah…this guy. If he was the last doctor around to treat a life sustaining issue that I personally have….don't treat me, I’ll take my chances. If you do decide to go to him be mindful and careful with your answers…his ego is very fragile. You damage his ego and you probably won’t get help. 1
