I have been trying to get through to them since 9 o’clock when they opened. I tried at nine 910 915 nine 9:30 and every time I went into voicemail saying they are not open yet they do not pick up their phone. This is very frustrating and I am so tired of this answer your goddamn phone.

Very disappointing experience at…
Very disappointing experience at Visionworks.
I have a Clover Health plan with a $300 yearly eyewear allowance, clearly shown in my insurance app. Despite this, the store only applied $200 to my progressive lenses and could not clearly explain why the remaining benefit was ignored.
I was quoted $379 for progressive lenses, but instead of applying the full $300 allowance, they reduced it by only $200, leaving an inflated out-of-pocket cost. Staff gave vague and conflicting explanations and seemed unfamiliar with how Clover benefits actually work.
I had to cancel the order and walk away to avoid overpaying. This felt misleading and unprofessional. Customers should not have to argue or educate staff about their own insurance benefits.
I would not recommend this location to anyone using insurance, especially Clover. Be very careful and double-check everything before agreeing to pay.

Bad glasses experience
I stopped by for glasses after not going there for a few years. They asked if I wanted to take a picture with the exam without telling me there was an extra charge, so they put it on my bill. Last time one pair was good one pair was bad. Very poor quality, and service in what they sell, that's how they keep their cost down. I dont plan on on ever going there! I couldn't wait to leave there.
Update: a week later received called from Visionworks Bolingbrook informing me they broke the frames I suppplied to them. The offered to refund the copay and came up with some low ball figure to compesate my loss, which they're lab caused. Defitnitly find a more proffesional place to have your eyes checked and your glasses made. These people are not responsible or conpetent in their work. One star is too much for them. Now I will have to seek anoother way to recoup my loss.

I will never go there again
I will never go there again. I called this morning to make an appointment for an eye exam. All you get to talk to is a damn computer. I ask to talk to a person a the call dropped. I got setup with a good place where you talk to a person with good doctors.

Eye exam Nightmare
On may 6th 2025 I had an eye exam at vision works louisville ky and everything went OK. However due to me not having insurance I pay out of pocket. Vision works eyeglasses were going to be about $400.00 so to save money i went to Walmart vision and had them made for around $240.00 out the door. Here is where this go south. I picked up my eyeglasses from Walmart they made some adjustments and I was on my way. About 2 days later I noticed that my vision with the eyeglasses didn't improve in fact it was way worse. I went back to vision works and had a re test the doctor said the RX and the lenses that Walmart made was a match. So I went back to Walmart to have the lenses remade along with new frames. 2 days later no improvement. I went back to Walmart around 10 times thinking it was the adjustment . Walmart couldn't get it right so I returned the eyeglasses for a refund. I then called vision works to ask for a refund on the eye exam telling them that the doctor got it wrong which made Walmart to make the eyeglasses wrong. I read where eye exams aren't refundable and after speaking with someone at vision works they told me the same. So if the doctor got it wrong why can't I be refunded? After all it all began with the eye exam.

Eye test three months ago and still no contact lenses. Trials were on back order and now lenses a further back order. Benmore never phones back when they say they will. If will be at least four months to get a pair of contact lenses.

Worst quality and terrible customer service
Here's the summary if you don't want read the long version.
I’ve had it with Visionworks. I’ve now had three sets of lenses crack due to their cheap, low-quality materials and incompetent lab work. Every single time, they’ve tried to blame anything but their own shoddy craftsmanship. The lenses were consistently fitted improperly, causing stress fractures where they met the frames — a basic issue any decent optical lab should catch and correct.
But it gets worse: they refused to stand behind their product. No apology, no accountability, no real help. Just a frustrating cycle of excuses and the same poor-quality replacements destined to fail again.
And don’t get me started on their customer service — rude, dismissive, and utterly useless. You’d get more empathy and problem-solving from a vending machine. I spent good money expecting basic quality and service, and instead got a masterclass in how not to treat your customers. Avoid Visionworks like the plague.
Visionworks' motto: “If you were hoping for glasses that help you see, you’re in the wrong hell. Our frames are crooked, our lenses are cursed, and our customer service is powered by apathy and spite. At Visionworks, we don’t just disappoint—you’ll leave questioning the point of sight itself. That’s our promise. That’s our punishment.”
Long version of complaint
I had one of the absolute worst experiences ever with both the quality of the eyewear and customer service. I purchased frames and lenses on 4/16/24. 4 months later, I noticed that the edge of the lenses looked like there were small white dots that within days grew into bigger cracks along the edge. After the manager at Visionworks examined the lenses, she said it was not my fault and they would send them back to the lab to have the lenses replaced. The manager mentioned that the lab messed up and something was done incorrectly when they cut and shaped the lenses. The lenses were OK for another 4 months until they started cracking again on the edges. Visionworks replaced them a 2nd time at the end of August. On 4/18/2025, almost a year after I received the glasses, the cracking started again in the corner of the left lens as shown in the picture below. Clearly, Visionworks has issues with either the quality or extremely poor technicians who keep repeating the same mistakes. When I went into this Visionworks location, the "optician" looked at the lenses and said he had no idea why they keep doing this. It could be alcohol or what was used to clean the lenses. I stated that this has happened 3 times with these lenses and frames and I have never had any problems with any other glasses doing this in 40+ years since I have been wearing glasses. I have been cleaning the lenses with the cleaning products I purchased at Visionworks. The more I talked to this joke of an optician, the more I realized how useless he really was. They should not let him even speak to customers. He quickly escalated the situation by looking up my information, then saying he could not do anything since I purchased the glasses a year ago. I asked him why he would not do anything if the glasses/frames are clearly defective or something has been repeatedly been done incorrectly in the lab. He had no answer and just smugly smirked, saying "sorry." I will never go back to Visionworks after this experience. If they cared about their customers at all, they would take corrective action with their labs and poor staff. The time and stress dealing with this horrible place is enough for me to tell everyone I know how bad they are. Just look at the other negative reviews regarding their lack of customer service.
04-21-2025 Response from customer service:
We are truly sorry to hear about your recent experience with our Phoenix location. Our goal is to provide exceptional customer service and we are sorry this was not the experience we'd hope to provide. Unfortunately, Visionworks does not offer a warranty after one year from the date of purchase. Your feedback is important to us, We will be escalating your concerns and feedback to our leadership team to address this internally.
Thanks for making me hate this company even more.
