I recently had to purchase a new cooling unit for my Vino Temp wine cabinet. After I was charged 1600.00 for the unit I asked for assistance in installing the cooling unit into the cabinet. I was informed that Vino Temp "no longer provides" assistance in this area; I then asked for a recommendation for an installer again I was told that Vino Temp no longer does that either. Fortunately I knew of a commercial refrigeration company whom I was able to contact and get the cooling unit installed. If I had not known an installer having the unit made serviceable would have been a disaster.

While there are not service people in all areas who know how to work on wine cooling systems, the customer always has the option to send their unit in for service to our location.

While I finally received a $15,000 custom built wine cabinet, The process of getting there was terrible. Calls to Julia Clemont were often answered late, help in trying to get cabinet shipped was not great. I have an email file that is at least 40 emails long. I am certain I would never use Vinotemp again. BobGorab

The SERVICE can't even call itself that! Customer service is horrible. Product is unreliable. Do Not do business with Vinotemp. It is amazing to read all the very poor reviews over a long period and yet the company does nothing to correct the problems. They obviously do not care! If you want the details read on... I had the 2500 unit for about 4 years. It broke down twice. The last time I sent it in for service I waited a few weeks and expecting it would have been worked on or at least looked at I called to arrange pick up since I would be in the area. I called and left messages with no call back. After waiting a few weeks I got an email from Richard the Service Manager that noted that we had attempted to change the venting which was true but done with a technician they suggested. He said to correctly change the venting it would require more work. The venting did not have anything to do with the failed parts. The email stated that Service would take 3-4 weeks. I indicated that we should proceed. I did not hear anything back for 10 weeks so I began writing and calling. After another week or so I got an email indicating that "we are at an impasse" due to the venting issue. I was NEVER told we were at an impasse! We then discussed the cost of repairs and venting change. Price would be about $800. And he cautioned that they weren't really sure how long the unit would perform properly or last. I asked if i could just by a new one and perhaps get a discount. He said he would call back in a hour. 3 days later - still no call. I called again and asked for a sales person to determine if I could get a discount on a new unit. She stated she would check and call back. She never did. I called again and asked for someone who was responsible above Service and Sales. I was given the Admin Asst voice mail. I left a message stating the issues and implicitly stated I did not want to talk to Richard anymore due to his unresponsiveness. I got a call from Richard!!! (Very apologetic) Then he indicated that I could not get a discount AND I would have to pay extra for them to install the bottle probe that I had purchased and sent in with the damaged unit. This whole process to over 4 months to get thru... I bought a CellarPro unit and suggest you do the same.

We apologize for the unsatisfactory service that you received as no customer should wait such a long while for their repair. We would like to clarify that there is a cost to cover labor on a repair when it’s no longer in warranty. The reason the unit eventually failed is due to the modification you performed on the unit. In order to take a few components out of your old unit and install it into a new unit would require labor out of our standard production line. That is why it was suggested to you that it would be more cost effective to purchase a new unit with the probe already installed, than to pay for labor and repairs/transfer on your old one. We cannot offer discounts on this particular model unfortunately.

More denial and deflection from VinoTemp! See their response to my last post. They DID in fact know that my unit was coming and my return address was on the label. Now, after the fact, they write a response saying I was missing paperwork? Laughable! This review is the first time I've ever heard about needing special "paperwork" in the return. They claim they've been in touch? I have received 2 emails and 0 phone calls from VinoTemp. 8/9 and 8/22 I received emails from their tech supervisor telling me the warranty claim process of how all the cost is on me to return it to them, that they won't pay to have my unit fixed at home, and that they won't replace my unit. NOW... they say they can't repair it because it has a small dent in the side of it? LOL! So, I guess I'm just out the $2,000 then, huh VinoTemp? Is that how you treat all your customers? If you can't repair it now, then I fully expect a BRAND NEW UNIT since you have affirmed both on the phone and via email, that my unit is under full warranty! By the way, all my calls to them were waiting on hold for 40+ minutes because they have only 1 person to talk to. I'll keep you posted, people, on whether I just ate a $2,000 cooling unit from VinoTemp or not. This will not end, if that's the case. This is only the beginning for them. This is now about the principle of not honoring a warranty and providing false claims to the public, no longer about me trying to recoup my sunk costs.

Sir, you never advised us that you were sending it in for repair, you were fighting with us about covering freight and the amount for an HVAC tech visit to your house and that you wanted it replaced with a new one. Had you let customer service know that you have agreed to ship in unit per our terms of warranty for repair, we would have sent you the “Repair Request” paperwork via email, or you would have seen the link to this on our website when you opened up the chat request on 08/08/18. Not only that, but you also informed us via chat on 08/10/18 that you had already sent the unit back to Vinogrotto. Your reviews are incomplete and incorrect. Twisting the story to make us out to be the “bad guys” when all we have been trying to do is troubleshoot and advise what steps need to be taken in order to fulfill our manufacture warranty. Please do as we last instructed and file a claim with your carrier in regards to the shipping damage. We do not attempt to repair units that have been damaged in transit, as that is not a manufacture issue.

2 vinotemp wine fridges delivered 2 weeks ago. Upon 24 hours wait, plugged fridges in. Both units bottom section will not cool below 72 degrees. After call to technical service, it took 10 days and numerous calls by myself to get a service appointment. Then appointment takes additional 1 week. 3 weeks. Horrible service. Vinotemp is 20 miles from my house. They wont give me new fridges. They want to repair NEW fridges.

Our company commissioned vinotemp to build a custom wine cooler for our client. All speicfications were reviewed, signed off on and detailed. They were pretty prompt before taking our money but once they took our deposit it was like pulling teeth to get information. They coujdln't give me ANY estimated production schedule. We had no idea when it would ship, if it would ever be done and if they just took our money and ran. They finally shipped the unit incomplete without the cooler and 2 weeks later sent the cooler. The unit never worked. It condensated, leaked air, dripped water all over our clients very expensive wine collection. Their contract states that "all sales are final". essentially they could deliver you a bucket of bolts and walk away, which is exact what they did to us. Lesson learned and now we are having to hire a reputable, experience, customer service oriented company to fix the problem. When we contacted another company and explained what happened they were not surprised. This wasn't the first time they had to cleanup Vinotemps mess and I'm sure it won't be the last. Save yourself the money, stress, aggravation, and poor results. Hire a professional and thats anyone but Vinotemp!
