We have just returned from a wonderful cruise on Viking Sea from Athens to Venice. Unfortunately the airline lost our luggage for five days which was far from ideal but Viking staff provided us with toiletries and also laundered our clothes each evening returning them early next morning. Our cabin stewards, Angel and Rhuel went beyond the call of duty to help us out with a few other missing item. The food was very good, the cleanliness was excellent and most importantly, the Staff were lovely. We mainly did the included excursions and the guides were very knowledgeable and interesting. All transfers were well organised and there were representatives at the foreign airports guiding us to check in and sorting out our luggage transfer so we only had our hand luggage to carry. All in all we were very happy people and have already booked our next ocean cruise with them.

Our first ocean cruise on Viking Sky in the eastern Mediterranean was very enjoyable with both the onboard crew and staff being very professional, helpful and a pleasure to interact with. From the point of booking and attending this cruise, we were impressed with the provision of documentation for the trip, travel arrangements, excursions on the cruise and the ship's cleanliness, the overall onboard facilities including dining and leisure and through proficient updates on the ship's program by the crew and staff. We therefore have booked a Viking River cruise in 2024 on the back of our comments above. We rate Viking Cruises as 5 star.

Just returned from our first river cruise down the Rhine valley. As this was our first time we were nervous on what to expect. The service was second to none from the time we stepped off the plane till the time we finished. The food was excellent with different local dishes each day. All the included walking tours were well organised with an optional leisure group if you have mobility issues. We will be booking again as the whole Viking experience has left us with no doubt that nothing is too much trouble. (They even apologised for keeping me waiting to hand in the on board survey, I was waiting at least 20 seconds). All you need to take with you is your clothes (all casual, smart casual for dinner), toiletries (excluding toothpaste) are replaced every day. Book one and you will never look back.

We had to rebook our river cruise due to a death in the family and Viking's agent could not have been more helpful. We paid a small fee and our cruise was changed in less than 10 minutes. Cannot wait to board the Gefjon.

Baffled by bad reviews. Took river cruise with my mother (who is 81) and it was perfect. The food was excellent, staff attentive, rooms clean. The included tours all had a gentle option, so mom could do the walking tours as the gentle versions stopped a benches to rest whilst learning the history. The program director Bennie was superb. She balanced engaging with customers, providing guidance on options and whilst extra Viking tours were available I didn’t think she was pushy with sales. It’s a gentle pace and aimed at the older crowd. There is a range of bookable activities that are graded by activity level, and if my mother was slightly younger we would have done more of those. Food was excellent, my mother who is usually a fussy eater enjoyed and ate everything. The menus changed daily and had a range of local dishes and safe favourites. We opted for the drinks package for upgraded wines and if you like wine is worth doing and they have a good wine list. The wait staff were pleasant and I felt well looked after particularly by Marion. My mother particularly liked not having to search out a restaurant at the end of a day as you normally have to when travelling and because the menus changed daily to reflect location, it did not get samey. The rooms are small but storage is well designed so that was fine. They were cleaned twice a day and Emily who cared for our room kept it clean would ensure that we had enough drinking water. I’m an early riser and noticed that the surfaces which get touched (like handrails) were cleaned regularly. Overall when I compare cost to staying in hotels in Europe, it’s very good value for money. Everything runs smoothly, the service is excellent and it’s clearly a well oiled logistics machine. Because everything is so well managed if there is any stress, the problem is you. It’s not my normal type of holiday but travelling with my mother who is older it was perfect. I’m not sure what would happen if there was a covid outbreak and that is the risk with cruises generally. But would highly recommend for relaxed holiday for the near to or post retirement age group.

We travelled on the Viking Moselle and Rhine river cruise on the 25/07/2022. This cruise was our third river cruise and another most excellent experience. The Longboat ship was very well appointed, absolutely pristine and clinically clean. Our state room was most comfortable and fully equipped with all the facilities to provide a high degree of comfort. The restaurant, food and wine were certainly impressive, the standard is comparable to cuisine served in a 5 star top class restaurant establishment. In respect of staff, these were all very smartly dressed, courteous and well mannered at all times. All tours were interesting and exceptionally well organised led by professional knowledgeable guides. Where travel to the places of interest necessitated transport,Viking coaches were on hand these being pristine, clean and most comfortable. In concluding, Viking provided a most wonderful holiday experience.

We have now finished our second Viking Cruise in Europe. I wish every travel company looked after you this way. Nothing is too much trouble and they look after you so well from picking you up at the airport to delivering you back with a member of staff guiding you through check in at a foreign airport. Food is great, Excursions are well planned and customers are looked after from start to finish. 10 out of ten every time. We loved it so much were coming back for another next year!!
