We didn't get to see Honduras as Viking tried to use their own tender to get to shore. It was too windy and not safe so decided not to try to use their tender. Other ships were docked at the pier. Why didn't Viking pay to dock? Is it cheaper to stay out in the bay and use your own tender? Key West was on the itinerary but Viking told us 5 months before they would not be docking. Viking have done this every year since 2012, knowing they are unable to dock there but still taking Port Tax from every passenger. We also paid Port Tax for Honduras even though they chose not to book and pay to use the pier there. Fraud and deception! On the last day, all running water was turned off until we left the ship. We could not wash, shower, not wash our hands and NOT able to flush toilets! We were treated like animals. It's a human right to have access to fresh water and clean sanitation. This was not the case. Any comments Viking? It will take a lot for us to travel with you again.

JOIN CLASS ACTION SUIT against Viking
Viking River Cruises are quick to collect your travel dollars but when COVID hit, their policy was to ignore any scientific evidence that the experimental injections actually worked. In fact, numerous inoculated passengers became infected with COVID on a cruise and were abandoned to get better or get home, on their own. More interested in Big Pharma than supporting customers and no consideration is given for naturally acquired immunity.
We have over $23,000 hard earned and limited vacation dollars on vouchers with VRC (read held hostage!) and it will not be returned to us. This prevents us from traveling with other cruise lines who have a reasonable COVID policy.
We missed a March 2020 trip to Holland, so a voucher for funds was applied to a trip on the Rhine in August 2022, which was also impossible to attend due to "health" requirements for proof of injections. We will not take the untested COVID shots, which have been proved ineffective against preventing COVID and actually exacerbates immunity suppression.
We want our funds back and VRC needs to update their policy to include the science which proves their COVID restrictions are inappropriate and ineffective. GIVE US BACK OUR FUNDS - VikingVictims at yahoo dot com for class action suit information.

Disappointed with the cancellation policy
Disappointed with Viking Cruises cancellation policy. No one expects to have to cancel a cruise. I had to cancel due to ill health and provided over five months notice. No partial refund was given and I lost the total deposit of $1000.I understand that the T&Cs outline the refund policy. However, I believe the policy is rather onerous. I was told to claim on my travel insurance if I had any.
I had to send three emails to receive a response and cancellation certificate from Viking Cruises.
I won't be booking any future cruise with them.

I'm with Robin (see below)
I'm with Robin (see below). We are cancelling our river cruise due to viking's heavy handed covid vaccine requirement. Also lost out on the cruise vouchers. NEVER BUY A VIKING CRUISE VOUCHER
We will be sailing with a different cruise line and will not be back to Viking. Viking has lost four loyal customers with 10 past cruises between us.

Viking Victim Unit
It's been three years now that Viking has held my family's money hostage because we don't wish to take the jab. Viking changed their policy after they took all our money, lured us into taking now worthless vouchers. They refuse to accept the fact that they changed the terms of the contract. Most all other cruise lines have dropped this mandate. The US gov has basically declared the "plandemic" over and all other mandates have been drop but Viking still won't change their policy. If you happen to be in the same position there is a group forming to file a class action law suit against Viking. #VikingVictims

Bad Experience with Portugal's River Of Gold with Viking Cruise
My wife and I booked the Portugal's River Of Gold with Viking Cruise, Booking Number: 6721657 starting on May 23 2022. This was our third booking with Viking after attending the Viking Stockholm to Bergen Cruise in 2018 and the Yangtze/Tibet review cruise in 2017, both to our full satisfaction.
Regretfully on Day 2, Tuesday, of the Portugal tour, I tested positive for Covid-19 and I was asked to isolate in my hotel room and we could get on the cruise. We asked to meet the Viking response team the next day, but despite many promises, the Viking representative, Gonçalo Costa, only showed up to meet me on Friday, 3 days later. Gonçalo claimed that both of us are required to do on day 6 (Monday May 30th) an antigen test. If negative, we can check out on Day 7. If positive, I have to isolate for 10 days. I called Portugal Health Ministry and they told me that Portugal does not require second Covid test on Day 6 and that I am free to leave at the end of the 7 days isolation period. We communicated that to Viking Covid Rep, but instead of checking it with Portugal Health Department, he insisted on me taking a second test. As I refused, he declined to provide me with documentation that I fulfilled my 7 days isolation requirements when we left on Day 7 w/o doing the test as he requested which I had to test and pay for privately.
I filed a complaint with Viking Customer Relations on June 13th and they dragged the response until I get my expenses paid by my insurance 5 months later. Viking declined to provide me any monetary compensation besides a $2,500 per person discount if I book a trip with them within a year. We felt that this compensation was not compatible with the emotional stress inflicted on us in Portugal and is locking us to book our next tour with Viking, and decided to decline. We received a very rude response from Samantha Grigg, who replaced the two Viking Customer Relations agents that followed our case before.
Given this outcome, my wife and I decided not to go on Cruises with Viking in the future.

Unethical, immoral Viking Cruise line
I had booked Viking's Rhine Getaway cruise for 1 September through 8 September of this year for me and a friend. Unfortunately, her circumstances have changed beyond anyone’s control, and she is unable to take the cruise. Briefly, here is some background.
She is a professor at the university in her hometown in Ukraine. She fled Ukraine when Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and arrived in the United States. She would like to return to her city and see whether her apartment is still standing. But she has no money to travel. I paid for her reservation, and the cruise would allow her to get closer to being home. (By the way, she and I first met in 2009 or 2010, and we have worked together at Christian conferences in Ukraine since then. I have been a missionary to Ukraine since 2003, and I already have visited the country two times during the war.)
When I knew for certain that she would not be able to travel, I contacted Viking's agents and discussed everything with them. First, logically, I thought I could easily replace her with another friend. But I have been told that our vouchers have been “used” or “redeemed.” Nothing could be further from the truth. No one has gone anywhere. No one has stepped foot on a Viking ship. The cruise is still more than 200 days away. And, again logically, if Viking can declare the vouchers “redeemed,” Viking can certainly declare them “unredeemed” and valid and restored. After all, if suddenly she could go, her voucher would be valid. Secondly, I also thought I could use her voucher to cover my single supplement. Sounds reasonable, right? That, I am told, is also impossible because it has been “redeemed.” It has not, not by me or her. I tried every way I know how so I can go on the cruise. And Viking will benefit nicely. Already has. I have nearly $6,000 invested in this cruise. If I must buy another reservation for $3,000 to cover the single supplement, then you can see that I would have $9,000 invested in the cruise. I cannot afford to do that. I am eager to cruise the Rhine but, with much effort and spending a lot of time on the telephone with an airline, I have changed my itinerary twice. So, it is doubtful that I will be cruising with Viking. Therefore, I have requested a full refund of the money I have paid to Viking – in the amount of $5,967.59. I have talked to at least a half-dozen Viking agents and e-mailed the corporate office in Woodland Hills, CA, all to no avail. Bottom line is: Viking cares nothing about you, only your money. They have mine, and it is mine, not theirs. But they are covered legally in their "terms and conditions." So taking them to small-claims court is futile. Meanwhile, they take a very hard-nosed, intractable position. I warn you -- never, never, never book any cruise with Viking. My story is similar to several I've seen on customer review Web sites. How they do this is beyond me. And isn't "word of mouth" the best advertisement? Or the worst? I am cancelling my cruise and eating the $5,679.59. A refund in that amount is all I want at this point.

Ludicrous covid rules
We have had to cancel our river cruise because of their ludicrous covid policy.
Cannot go on a cruise if not jabbed even to countries which have no covid requirements any more. To go on the cruise people do not have to supply a negative covid test so you still go on the cruise in theory even if you have covid. The vaccinations mean nothing anyway. Utter and total joke.
